I have no clue what you can get over there but here there are a lot of preparations, not for internal use, that have some kind of compound in them with antibiotic action, wtf, do you guys go to a doctor shaman everytime you get a sore throat? Go to a pharmacy and ask about these things, or try your favorite dealer, they might carry antibiotics.

Vet's can legally perscribe antibiotics to you? Or do have to bring in a fake sick cat? This is why I get all my medical information from the Shroomery.

depending on the drug and vet you can just tell the vet what you need and they'll hook you up

I was thinking about that the other day. Heck I have some Acepromazine in my fridge, but that does not sound fun at all. I know where there is something stronger just a short trip away if I wanted it. I wonder what it was, I was to drunk to remember.
But Ketamine, I wonder if I can get that.

just got back from the walk in clinic. DAMN! They got some hotties working up in there!
Negative for strep. Took a blood test for mono, gave me a scrip for antibiotics, but with the caveat that they may or may not help depending on whether it's a bacterial thing or not. She said I could wait and see if I feel like I need them, or start taking them now. I think maybe I'll wait. Don't like taking antibiotics if I don't need to. I'll wait and see what the bloodwork looks like and how I feel tomorrow.

That 'clinic' is some piece of work...prescribing antibiotics because someone had a bit of a sore throat for a few days.
And back in civilization, researchers and medical professionals are wondering what the fuck to do about the increasing number of strains of bacteria that have become resistant to antibiotics.

your honestly better off getting sick and fighting it off and just dealing with it, this will strengthen your natural immune system, instead of handing them a crutch of antibiotics that will atrophy your immune systems muscles man.
but crutches can be fun

actually, I thought she was pretty straight up with me. She advised that I not take the antibiotics unless I'm still not feeling better in a couple/few days.
and didn't cost me $100. Ended up my insurance covered the whole thing. Finally feeling a little better this morning. Last night sucked. My throat was SO sore, I couldn't sleep. Had to take benzos to sleep. Looks like I won't need those antibiotics after all.

Good thing she was honest with you, but I wonder why she would prescribe antibiotics and then proceed to advise not to take them...then not prescribe them in the first place.
But more to the point: good to hear you're feeling a bit better.

I think it was just because she didn't want me to have to go through the whole song and dance of another visit to get them if I needed them.

I suppose, yeah. It's kind of her, but still strikes me as sort of a misplaced kindness. Nevermind though.
