Nights in White Satin

Fucking classic. Moody Blues...
When I was a wee lad, I used to think it was "Knights in White Satin" And I used to love the King Arthur legend, so the thought of Knights in White Satin was immensely "Gay" as I would have said whilst it made me mad. But, I was a stupid little shit and didn't get it at the time. Their attire is murderable, but the music is timeless.
Gives me chills every time I hear it.
Brought some tears to my eyes tonight while listening to it thinking about my women.

Talk about cheesy and sappy, both of those make me cringe a little.

Sounds like a gay chapter of the KKK
Agreed, beautiful song, carries memories that go decades back.
Those images of the video, Paris of 1967.. The people you see are 44 years older now. Encroyable.

Such a great song. I'll admit it has brought a tear to my eye a few times.

No. I like them both better than Nights.

After a couple listens the moodies one grew on me.
"Think of me with kindness" I had a lot of trouble with at first because I was listening to buckethead than switched over. The piano and vocal bit thew me off at about 2 minutes. But, with a clear mind and a stream of consciousness not already being influenced by other music, I was able to like and appreciate it.

The song was used very effectively in the film Casino as Sharon Stone was doing her crash-and-burn before dying in a sleazy boarding house. The smoothness of the tune was an excellent contrast to the ugly scene unfolding visually. They couldn't have made a better choice.

Eloquently stated, sir. And very true.

Why, thank you, Raven. And may I say your compliment was eloquently stated. And very true, as well.
I was thinking of other times the song is used in film, but I suppose I done got stoned and kindasorta drifted off to something else.
It doesn't take a genius to cue up Freebird when someone's shooting up some crank. When one considers the complexity and darkness of that dumb bitch's epic fail, White Satin is perhaps the last thing I would have used in that scene (with the possible exception of Seasons in the Sun), yet it turned out brilliantly. Throughout Casino one finds masterful use of the soundtrack. Superb work.
