Mycobag self healing injection port problems

Im having trouble creating self healing injection ports in my large Mycobags. I cut out a small peice of the bag then smear 100% clear silicone over it so its not just over the hole i made. I then wait for it to cure for a day. Then when i go to test it to see if its airtight it just falls right off with very little blowing (i blow into it to see if its airtight). Am i using the wrong silicone or do i need to use more or another problem all together?

you dont have to cut anything out. get some red rtv silicone from the auto parts store out a gob on holds pretty well but holds even better with a piece of painters tape over it. you dont even have to wait for it to dry just smear, tape, then pressure cook.
one of the sponsors has self sticking ports to put on the bags but anymore i knock up grain jars and use them to inoculate grain bags. i started doing this cuz there wouldalways be a couple of ports that lost their seel and end up contaminating

deladude has the right idea. It doesnt have to be the red RTV silicone though, any pure silicone at all will be fine. Also I would recommend clear box tape (packaging tape) instead of painters tape however, because it is a slick non porous surface that wipes easily with an alcohol wipe. Painters tape has a rough surface that could harbor contams when you wipe it with an alcohol wipe (its not necesarily the alcohol that kills stuff, the wiping off and away is very important).
I do this all the time, its very simple. Just take your silicone, put a nice little blob down. I like to put it a few inches under the filter. Let it sit for about 30 minutes. Take a 2-3" piece of box tape and simply lay it over the halfway cured silicone. Make sure that there are no wrinkles or anything around the blob. Now you can PC the bags immediately. There is no need to wait for the silicone to cure any more, it will completely cure in the pc cycle. Thats it man. Just wipe it with alcohol before sticking it and your good to go.

Awesome sounds alot easier then the crazy way i was doing it lol. So i just put some silicone down then wipe the box tape with some alcohol and put it over the silicone (after it is half cured) and Im done? The tape Will still stick after wiping with alcohol?

Sorry you misunderstood me. The alcohol wipe is for when you are about to inject it with spores AFTER pcing and cooling and all that.
Just put the silicone down, wait 30 min, then put the tape on and bam thats it.
