Something easy on gas, accessible parts, reliable, simple, american as I live in america & parts are cheaper. I made a horrible choice buying a twin turbo audi a6. I rather have a ford focus over it. It depends what you're really looking for if you're looking for suggestions, ask yourself if gas, reliability and all the other factors will be a big issue.

Not American... but I want a 2007/2008 Hyundai Tiburon SE for about that price.
From an American company I'd be looking at a used Ford Fusion.

it's 4000 lbs not really performance but a luxury car. I don't need a luxury car most of the time. Impossible to pass through DEQ too..I need to find a gas leak in on of my fuel lines on top of the tank soon & that won't be much fun. I have worked/rebuild a few engines in my span and the audi is just a nightmare. Dumb germans, bad decision I wasn't ready to invest the time and $ into this 4000lb boat.
Lesson learned eh?

i live in the south and have always had a truck. i wrecked my truck last month but my insurance is giving me a nice check (i could have never sold my truck for that much). lately i have been thinking that there is no point in having a truck, i rarely use the bed. i would like to go to the beach or off roading in my vehicle but in the end i will just fuck something up and its just not worth it. so having a big 4x4 is pointless for me. as far as gas goes anything at or around 20 mpg is fine. i dont want to buy anything with over 75,000 miles or that would be unreasonably high on insurance. i was just trying to get some ideas...

I wouldn't spend that much on a car tbh. much better things to do with 15 large IMO. I would rather spend a third of that on say an old jeep(inde-fucking-structable), or a small motorcycle and beater car for inclement weather. Then spend the rest of the money on vacation and life experiences as opposed to material luxuries like nice cars, but that's just me.

Id rather spend more on a car. You get what you pay for and it's good to have something that will stand the test of time. Something you wont be paying a fortune to repair in the next year.

It's not impossible to find a reliable car that is older/some minor paint/body damage for really cheap. Best time to look is around the holidays.
I'm also a firm believer that if you take care of your machine and you buy quality (Jeep, dodge, toyota, honda etc.) You should almost never have problems unrelated to normal wear and tear.

Normal wear and tear can include spun bearings, cracked heads, preignition -> warped rods, etc. Such serious issues happen quite often on higher mileage cars. How bullet proof your engine is should be considered; say straight 6 4.0 jeep compared to 318 5.2 jeep. Do a little research and you should be set. Take it one step past the general brand of a car. Search a bit around on the engine. good luck

RX5/RX7/RX8
RX8 is the best really if you can find one and it can be very sporty.
RX7 is more of a crash waiting to happen, lots of power if you want it, its like an rx8 unleashed also some flaws with it since its older.
RX5 is like be dead in a crash but it handles good and gets pretty good gasmilage.
Just sayin, thats what I would do with 15k
If you want safe reliable fwd. Mazda 6 is very cool, my dad has one I think. Think he got it to pass down to me . And he get his corvette or whatever.
Sorry don't know if thats in your price range, Just find a good used car dealer and don't let em rip you off! If ur going to spend that much money, mine aswell get something stylish,

Man, Toyota Camries never did me any wrong... same with Honda Accords, those are pretty nice... I wouldn't ever get a civic or a corolla though... Old or new.
Or you could go the more convenient route, and get a small V6 truck. They're lightweight, not terrible on gas and a hell of a lot more convenient than a car. (I used to drive a camry, now I drive a pathfinder. A lot more convenient, I can actually tow shit.)
I mean, you did say Daily Use, so I'm figuring, these rock crawlers and sports cars aren't what you're looking for. ;P

I just leased a new car, and in the process test drove several models.
For new, the 2011 Hyundai elantra is pretty nice. 40 mpg highway too. I've driven a 2008 Honda civic for years, and that was also great.
The 2011 tc scion is OK, if you like the "fast and the furious"/mod type of look. I find it annoying though so I passed completely.
I ended up with a 2011 Accord coupe EX. Holy crap it's nice. I've never driven a really nice car before and it's awesome. At this point, I'm definitely a Honda guy so I'd say a civic or used Accord.

at one point I'd have advised people to buy honda, no more, I purchased a 2003 accord and with less than 60k miles the transmission is bad, it's a recall service that honda claims was done but the problem has recurred, honda america says if it wasnt done correctly it needs to be redone properly by a honda dealer, to date, none will touch it
I'm not the only one with this exact same complaint, there's thousands of others having this issue and not getting the resolution from honda, I advise staying as far away from honda until they get their heads out of their asses and start back to customer service

The Cadillac Eldorado I used to own was the last American car I will ever own. I advise you to buy an 8th gen Civic (2006-present), I got 42mpg driving to Kansas last year, if I don't watch my tach at all, I average 26 in the city. It also has an AUX plug to hook up you Ipod/mp3. You can find one for $15k w/ 30k miles that is under warranty and will barely depreciate in comparison to most cars.

Yes, The RX7 and RX8 are known to have shorter life due to their engines, I think they still last a decent amount of time, just google how long will RX8 last and it'll show you some good averages. I don't know know, theres some plus sides to the moter and some down sides, also MX5 has a strait 4 and a mazda 6 has a strait 4 or a V6 I think. The V6 in a mazda 6 is very close to the V6 in a 350z, I think its the same or it has almost the same every thing. You might even be able to find a RX7 with a rebuilt V8 put into it, Or the japan V8 racing edition. Now that would be a sick powerful car.
