Significant times
    #14006073 - 02/22/11 06:41 AM (13 years, 1 month ago)

Do you guys ever look at the time and think the numbers there have some significance?

I often seem to look at the clock when its 9:11, 4:20, 13:37, 11:11.

I know it doesn't mean anything, we're constantly looking at the time and it only seems significant because it is significant to us personally.

I just wondered if you guys had any other numbers you see as significant when looking at the time, and why.

i remember in the afterglow of my first acid trip on 1/1/11 just as the sun was @ its brightest i looked @ the digital clock on the microwave and it read 11:11...

this song "fragments of the sun" by a band called Pallas came on my shuffle and i listened to it and went out on my roof n smoked a joint, watching the sun beam down on me

that was a pretty significant synchronious moment for me :sunny:

Yes, 9:11 is a time that I constantly see.

I think about it the same way (...doesn't mean anything, we're constantly looking at the time and it only seems significant because it is significant to us personally.) but I still think it's eerie sometimes esp when I'm fucked up, then I'm screaming, "ITS 9 fucking 11, what does it meeeeaaaan?"

Humans have biological clocks.  Even in isolation a person can typically give you a rough estimate of the time.

The times in the last while where I've guessed the time I've been within 30 minutes, usually closer.

A few quick assessments of the light situation, make a few snap judgments and there you have it.

Guessing the time and having a significant time are not the same thing.

For instance my friend asks what time is it... I look at my cell and it's 9:11.
Or I wake up in the morning and look over at the alarm clock, it's 9:11.
Or I'm surfing the internet, look down and it's 9:11.
Or I'm driving in the car, look down it says 9:11.

Different clocks, different times of the day, different circumstances.... consequence, biologically driven, combination of both, whether it means anything or not... it still feels slightly eerie when it happens and I've never even thought of looking it up on the internet until now.

It means you, like everyone else, is conditioned to recognize simple number patterns.
