Hmm.. what about books or articles?  They tend to be much more informative and factual.

I guess. Ive seen the official nasa wesite on Chalenger etc. but wouldnt it be nice with a modern day look at how they communicate with them and what they are doing. find it pretty facinating that some of these have been sailing continually for over 40 years at several thousand miles per hour and still aint outside our solarsystem... aint that something

Space probes we are communicating with aren't modern, they were built years ago and designed earlier than that.

Wikipedia has a lot of info on New Horizons and some other current projects.

But the probes were engineered in the 80's. Seriously antiquated electronics.

Seriously, dude?  Not quite.  Maybe your DirecTV comes from an old GTO sattelite, but there are some amazing, and modern, things up there as we speak.

Kepler being the most recent and fascinating in my opinion, but the things NASA/JPL has put up there are amazing, and incredibly ahead of their time.  Cassini/Huygens, Chandra, New Horizons, Planck, Glast, GALEX, just to name a few of the most amazing and awesome of the recent launches.  Hell even Hubble has been upgraded so much that it's still a scientific powerhouse.

Check out http://www.nasa.gov/missions/current/index.html. ; The ISS is a waste of time, IMO, but there are so many awesome things NASA/JPL and ESA are doing, I just can't believe someone could say what you did.

I can only see half that giganourmous image. Any national heopgrapics material or nothing?! Is NASA keeping this down lo' aswell? Probably. We only know what they want us to.
