premature veil cracking?

Working with PFtek with cakes fruited to a SGFC. Cakes were dunked for 24 hours and rolled in verm. For the first few days, the wrong lights were being used, soft white instead of daylight. Since about five days ago they've been replaced with 5000K lights and hopefully soon some 6500K+ lights. Also started some sunlight exposure in the morning for a little while in front of a cracked window. FAE was a concern, as the FC was originally placed in a closet. The closet door was open with consistent manual fanning but it was moved to the center of the room just in case. Mycelium is pushing through on the cakes but the only other sign of growth is one pin coming off of one cake. It had a translucent/white film on it for a couple of days but it was written off as moisture buildup and it's no longer there. The pin started off as an in vitro pin and grew quickly in the past few days but it's still a stub of a mushroom. Now it appears that the veil is already cracking? There's a tear along the bottom of the cap and it's broken off in one spot. Any theories on what could be causing this?

sometimes it just happens
sometimes its caused by low humidity
sometimes its caused by not enough misting..

That picture was taken about six hours ago and since then there is another crack right above the original veil tear.
I fan on an average of 5 times every hour with misting directly after each fanning. The cakes appear and feel moist but there's no standing water or condensation buildup on the sides/top of the FC.

5 times per hour? Jesus man, take a break. They won't grow any faster because you're fanning them like a hurricane.
Most growth takes place in the off-hours anyway, not sure why but they like to grow at night. That's why maintaining 12/12 on the light cycle is a good idea, so they're trained properly.

A big concern in the very beginning was location of the FC. It was in a closet. Even with the door open, I was wary about FAE so I based my fanning cycle off of that impediment. Having it in the center of the room, near a cracked window, reduces that concern so maybe I will take a break-- haha . I figured extra wouldn't hurt, as long as the substrate was still hydrated.
A 12/12 cycle is running right now with some sunlight exposure in the A.M.
Thanks everyone for responding so far!
