You mean Scott Walker the duly elected governor of Wisconsin doing what he was elected by a majority of the people in Wisconsin to do?  You really are a fascist.

http://therealbarackobama.wordpress.com/2011/02/18/lying-liars-building-a-stronger-wisconsin/
Quote:

The so-called authoritative poll was conducted by The Shop Consulting, Inc., on behalf of the lefty pro-labor political action committee, Building a Stronger Wisconsin.

(It looks like BSW’s only payee is The Shop Consulting. Or at least that’s what it looks like in this October 2010 FEC filing.)

Let’s do the math. The survey included 602 individuals in a state which, in 2010, had a population of 5,714,588.

Honestly. That’s it? Sounds like a mandate.

However, Randy Nash (aka Randall L. Nash of the O’Neil, Cannon, Hollman, DeJong & Laing S.C. Milwaukee law firm), BSW’s executive director, needs to get real:

“There is no way to look at the results of this poll and not be convinced that voters from all walks of life, all ages and all across Wisconsin think Governor Walker has gone too far in both how much he expects public employees to contribute for their benefits and especially in proposing to eliminate their collective bargaining rights.”

Um, Randy, that would be 602 out of a possible 3,469,443 voters (in 2009), or a piddly .00017 percent of the voting Wisconsin public.

(And Ben, before posting this kind of crappola, get out your calculator.)

In an October 2008 article, BSW is described as a shadowy front group that was “creating a traffic jam on the low road, stuffing mailboxes and in some cases filling the airwaves in key battleground districts with paint-by-numbers attacks” and which attacked Republicans “on the grounds that they don’t care about school kids and rape victims.”

The article informs little is known about BSW — even in Wisconsin:

It has a web site (www.buildingastrongerwi.com) and a post office box in Waunakee, Wisconsin. Its treasurer is listed as Randy Nash, a Milwaukee-area attorney and unsuccessful Democratic Senate candidate in 1996.

What is clear is that the money raised to fund their smears is not disclosed to the public. Voters have been kept entirely in the dark about who’s paying for this gutter campaigning.

Then we have the slight coincidence that BSW shares the same name as a COWS (Center on Wisconsin Strategy) initiative. COWS, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is headed by Joel Rogers, the co-founder of the New Party. Yes. Obama’s New Party.

Update: Smith reports on another poll on Wisconsin, this one a robocall poll of 2,397 Wisconsin residents by We Ask America of Springfield, Illinois.

Meanwhile, in the rest of the US:

Quote:

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters agree more with the Republican governor in his dispute with union workers. Thirty-eight percent (38%) agree more with the unionized public employees, while 14% are undecided.

In an effort to close the state’s sizable budget deficit, Walker is proposing to eliminate collective bargaining for public employees including teachers on everything but wage issues. He is excluding public safety workers such as policemen and firemen from his plan.

Thirty-eight percent (38%) of voters think teachers, firemen and policemen should be allowed to go on strike, but 49% disagree and believe they should not have that right. Thirteen percent (13%) are not sure.

With states across the country finding that benefits for public workers are becoming difficult to fund in the current economic climate, support for public employee unions has fallen.  Forty-five percent (45%) of Americans favor them, and 45% don’t. These findings include 21% who Strongly Favor such unions and 30% who are Strongly Opposed to them.

The people elected Walker and the other Republicans.  Now they are doing their job.  Unlike the Dems hiding like rats and not showing up for work.  If the people decide they don't like what Walker and the Republicans are doing they can vote them out next time.  I doubt that will happen but if that's what they want to do they can do it and rescind the law.

yeah..right.. like a poll owned by fixed noise is more reliable than "the shop"...and i suppose the shop owns this poll too ..

in either case..quoting fixed news still doesnt prove its wrong...

A 2.600 sample robopoll isn't shit either.  Nor does it matter.  The same poll found that the respondents want the dems to return to face their defeat.

Anyway, here was the question

Quote:

As you may know, Gov. Scott Walker has proposed a plan to limit the pay of government workers and teachers, increase their share of the cost of benefits, and strip some public-employ unions of much of their power. We’d like to know if APPROVE or DISAPPROVE of Gov. Walker’s plan.

Gotta love poll phrasing.  They call that a "push poll" in the business.  2,600 sample robocalled pushpoll.  Right.

Does Rupert Murdoch own Rasmussen Polls?

No. Rasmussen polling... the MOST accurate poll out there (per Fordham University's annual study) is owned by pollster Scott Rasmussen.

Here's what the question should have been:

"Do you approve or disapprove of the bill regarding public employees before the legislature".

Totally neutral.  As opposed to the above robocall poll.

very clever..but theres a case to be made that making the question so vague is precisely what makes the poll..if not the question itself..anything but totally neutral...

There's nothing vague about it.  It is specific to the bill.  What it avoids is any pollster bias in description.  Totally neutral.  This is what I was taught in college about conducting an information gathering survey.  To avoid supplying anything at all.  Other kinds of surveys are called pushpolls.  They want to get a certain result and interfere to achieve it.  That is what the question in the poll you cited did.  My question is an elementary social science research method.  Their question is a clear effort to skew results.

No, honey, the fascists are the minority that want to impose their will on the majority.  You don't like that word?  OK.  Let's just call them anti-democracy assholes.  If the people of Wisconsin decide that they don't like what they are doing they will be able to kick them out in a couple or four years and the new legislature can change it then.  But your stance is part and parcel of the attitude that is endemic in totalitarian regimes.  The refusal of the losers to willingly give up their power.  Remember the words of Obama, "I won".  Well, this time you lost.  Deal with it, sucka.

fascism is corporate control of government...and union busting..IMAO..leads directly to that condition...just because its what the majority wants..and duly elects individuals to that end.. doesnt make it any less so...

1.  Fascism is not corporate control of government, it is government control of corporations.
2.  Union busting is not fascism.
3.  The bill does not "bust" the union.  If the only thing keeping the union alive is involuntary membership then IT is fascist.
4.  No corporations are involved in this bill.

:rofl2:

No.  And where in the bill is any private unions or corporations mentioned?  It is strictly between the government and government employees.

Why do you think people should be forced to join unions to work at their employment?
