I think that's why a lot of people do uppers... I know I used to feel like Jesus Christ reborn after a good bowl of meth.
Do you really get talkative on opiates?

I have the same thing, but I drink like a Russian rather than take opiates. I like that alcohol can actually be stimulating and raucous as a depressant, as opposed to opiates which pretty much just make you lie around talking shit. I'm really good about it these days, by which I mean I only drink about half the nights of any given week, since I'm going to school and that shit is seriously torturous if you're hung over all the time.
I don't see why we need to call the opiate users out, let them do their thang man, and keep doing your thang, and then maybe we can all do mack thangz together.

in all honesty, responsible opiate use doesnt bother me at all. once every couple of months isnt a big deal, probably not even 1 or 2 times a month. as long as you arent pumping yourself full of them on a daily basis you probably wont notice any negative side effects unless you do dumb stuff like take big doses with no tolerance.
i would give heroin a shot (i know, bad pun).
i just think its funny that theres a huge stigma about opiate use because some people totally wreck their lives using opiates. when i bring up the fact that i wouldnt hesitate to try heroin, my friends are all " youre a fucking idiot man".
then they turn around and do some lines of coke. or pop a few percs. it honestly makes me laugh on the inside, but i dont bring up their hypocrisy.

It's too bad SLJ has ignored me because I actually agree with this pretty strongly. It's really simpleminded to associate any given drug with the worst excesses we've seen.
Also, the dangers of opiates are seriously overstated. Dope sickness doesn't sound fun, but to be fair it's a very acute condition which sufferers recover from rapidly. By the standards of habit-forming psychoactive drugs, I think the only one less harmful to the body in general is marijuana. Contrast with speed, coke, tobacco, booze, none of which are nearly as addictive physiologically, but will do a serious fucking number on you all the same.
Still though, I actually think I would not try heroin, just because weaker opiates are good enough for me.

I think the problem is the highly addictive nature of opiates and the fact that tolerance builds up.
Like I said the one time I tried H by the time I got back home I was glad i did not have a hook up for it. Pretty rare in my home town at the time but if i knew someone and it was available who knows... I know I got stuck on meth once or twice in my life. Luckily after the last time things kind of clicked and I was like wtf am I doin? Wake up mother fucker.
I have an addictive personality, alcohol is something I am dealing with right now. Pot helps a ton but of course I am looking for a job... Dammit.

Yeah, I definitely feel like I have a dependency to alcohol. It's not like I drink a lot, it's just that I feel compelled to drink every night, even when I tell myself I'm not going to. Even if that is only 1-4 beers, it still isn't good for the soul.

Most definitely I got talkative on them, like tchan was talking about alcohol being stimulating thats how opiates were to me depending on the situation. I used them to nod off and be sedated as well but they didnt make me lazy at all they would give me motivation and make doing everyday things alot easier to get up and do.

I actually find pot, alcohol, and uppers all to be a lot more habit-forming than opiates. Opiates are a hoot when I take them, but they don't achieve anything I can't get from something else.
The opiate habit is something I'm not really familiar with. It seems to start out as a psychological addiction, because you have to take a lot of it on a very consistent basis to become physically dependent.

Depending on the half life of an opiate you can start getting some level of withdrawal from as little of 3 days use so it doesnt take as long as you'd think.

I get alcohol withdrawals all the time, I call them "hangovers." These are different from full-blown withdrawal symptoms with convulsions, uncontrollable tremors, or delirium tremens. Serious drug dependency is something you really have to work at, from what I can tell.

Late Night Chat or Lesbians Needing Coitus or Look Nerdy Chicks
It's a thread that is started at a certain point in the evening (usually about 9pm pacific) where we all fuck around and say silly stuff, talk about our day, and support one another. Reminds me of the good old days of the pub.

You know shit's gone all wrong when your internet drug message board buddies stage an intervention.
Side note, people tend to talk about heroin like it happens in a clinical setting. Sure, pure heroin where the dosage is known and the works are clean is probably not that dangerous. That's not the situation out there, it's unknown dosages and shitty needle discipline.
The fact is, the shroomery has a dope problem. As a whole, there's a worrying amount of problematic use of opiates. I don't think it's a recent thing, I remember it being here. The responsible opiate users are not going to be noticed, only the people cruising for rock bottom. Same as ever. And they'll learn their lesson in real life, not here.

Alcohol addiction and opiate addiction are not the same it takes much longer to get physcialy dependant on alcohol using it everyday then it does opiates. I was addicted to opiates for 2 years and have been on suboxone for the last 7 months and believe me it didnt take very long to become a full blown addict who had to use just to not get sick. Opiate withdrawals are nothing like a hangover from alcohol so I dont know what you are trying to say.
