No. I'm still enough of a newb that I still get an adrenaline high.
Also such a newb to weed that I'm sure I'd do something totally stupid if I tried

when i bought my first sailboat, i didn't know how to sail it, a friend offered to take me out and we sailed for 30 minutes, i didn't do much more than absorb what was happening.
within a few weeks i had racked up about 2 hours of light sailing, then one day we had hurricane remnants come through.. i packed my rig and went out on my alcort puffer (didn't raise the spinnaker)..

i was all baked and it was awesome! i hiked upwind for about 2 hours straight. gusts must have been 15-25mph. best thing since sex.

Very cool style boat, I've been sketching a lot of different ideas for my Puddle Duck at work. I've yet to determine all the design features.
I'll make a thread for mine once things are smoothed out.

thanks, good luck on yours. i'll start a thread in the DIY forum as soon as i start cutting. i've thought about making copies of all the panels, so i can send out a stencil to anyone who wants to build their own. i might even make a few boats to sell around here. we've got two large lakes just a few blocks away..
can't wait to see a frame.

Def post pics!
Also, I saw on a website that someone scaled up a boat from plans, and built a cardboard version of all the panels before the actual cutting. Might be an idea to consider - remember, measure twice, cut once!

Me too, I have always wanted to do this!!
But I am very nervous about being sick as a dog from the motion of being far out to sea.
At the same time, I know I MUST experience this one day, before I die.

haha, i know, a few days ago i did a search for "sailboat" here and ran across your 5 year old thread..

on another note, i'm going to see if i can find a wholesale marine dealer. i used to buy from some company in dallas, but you have to be a dealer to buy from them. i'm going to take my plans up there and see if i can open up a business account.
i talked to a couple friends and they offered to help out with production if i decide to build more to sell.
this first boat will cost me between $300-$400 to build at the most. i imagine i could resell it for double that maybe more if i take my time and do a good job.

that reminded me of that spy boat Tim Curry drove in that shitty McHale's Navy movie with Tom Arnold..
ive been thinking about taking a really really long motorcycle trip recently. i think if i were to do it i would probably book a cruise home on a cargo ship rather than driving all the way back. chances are i would be on the ship for a month.
i think i could handle it.
