Not liking to keep all my eggs in one basket so to speak...
Get some needle nipples, they come on the end of new syringes, chances are you have a few kicking around.
 SNIP SNIP!!
 TA DA!
 1/4 inch...
 Hole.
Silicone air hose from pet store....MUST be silicone. And wire, could be any wire as long as it holds a bend.
cut 6 inches of wire and 6 inches of tubing.
 Nipple into tubing.
 Tubing into lid.
 wire into tubing.
 Make a nice bend.
 Screw onto jar!

Fill your shot glass with whatever you would normally use...bubbles ensue! I don't have the sterile solution so I'm going to use salt water I think.
Results will follow as they happen.

Yous crazy. You don't need a sterile solution as long as you have a positive pressure from the carboy when you're brewing. Airlocks inhibit oxidation once the pressure is equal on both sides and keep bugs out before. Looking foward to updates on this.

Well I went ahead and followed Mad Capper's Moonshine Tek here. Turns out it makes so much mash I didn't have enough jars!
Raided the water cooler and made a little bubble lock for it in the same way. It's sitting here in front of me burbling right now! With a little luck I should have something suitable for fuel in a week. Not really economical, I need a cheaper sugar to make it worthwhile. Just plain water in it, Last time I brewed beer I used cleaning solution in the bubble lock.
A word of advice.. and WARNING.
If you make one of these and lift up the bottle the tube will SUCK WATER OUT OF THE SHOT GLASS! as you lift up the bottom on the bottle sags and creates suction. Damn good thing I didn't have soapy water or sterilizing solution in the glass!
And those are burns on the shirt, not stains.

In like 10 minutes it's gone from bubbling every 6 seconds to every 3.5 seconds!
The yeast are winning!!!!

Nice, I like the shirts on the bottles, I usually use a plastic bag, I'm clothing my carboys from now on.
