Knotts growing before pinning?
    #14000659 - 02/21/11 11:13 AM (12 years, 11 months ago)

I have never ran into this issue of my freshly colonized bulk.  I introduced it to fruiting conditions a week ago  and now I have a bunch of knots instead of pins.  Not sure whats the deal here.  anyone that has any info, please fill me in

alright.. lets play nice.. lol.. we can all learn from eachother.. haha

and the thing is, its not "irregular".. only reason luger was surprised, is simply because you SHOULD have seen this happen before.. im kinda surprised, as well.. lol

they are called Hyphal Knots, which will start to develop a more, and then turn to primodia, then to pins.. if memory serves when it comes to terminology.. either way, i wouldnt trip unless you see/smell something nasty in there..

again, pics would help, but i would bet 20 bucks that they are hyphal knots..

calm down dude.
There are always knots and these knots will transform to pins.
Just wait 2 days and you have your pins.

my bad man, i thought your were just trying to douche it up, i appologize.  I did some searching on  "hyphal knotts" and thats deffinitely what they look like.  I dont have a good camera only the one on my phone which sucks.  could these knots exist as a result of a print turned syringe instead of my usual lc?  this is the first time in a year i havent used a liquid culture, thats the only variance.

How common is knotting?  and is there any reason that this occured only when I used a spore syringe?

No, knotting will ever happen, but if you are going on sub with casing, the knots sometimes form under the surface so you cant see them.

like i said.. its a NATURAL thing.. its like a baby growing legs and arms in utero.. it has "knotting" to do with spores or myc or whatever (hahahaha.. you know that was funny)

i just dont think you noticed it.. or you werent paying attention..

no offense.. it would make sense, as i just said this, and luger posted a pic with a chart of a musies grow cycle..

yeah i saw the life cycle diagram and where the knotting occurs, i just havent had it occur before so i suspected it was because I used a spore syringe instead of LC.  But now that i know its nothing to worry about and just another phase in its lifecycle, i just got to wait for those cambo's to fruit.  thanks for the help, i leaned something new today
