Habitat: Growing on the edge of the woods, on a gentle slopped hillside. Mixed woods.
Gills: Free from stem, white, extremely crowded.
Stem: White, showing reticulation, wider at base. Fleshy, NOT hollow, not filled with a pith. Movable ring.
Cap: Large (see pics), shaggy brown patches on top white base.
Spore print color: White
Bruising: Quickly orange when touched or cut.
Other information: Seems distinctly different than Chlorophyllum rhacodes.
Scent of the mushroom: Smells intense, like a Boletus edulis, as opposed to the other typical Chlorophyllum rhacodes I find that has almost no odor.
I can smell these in the forest just like I can a Boletus edulis - even before I ever see them, I know they are there.
* Also, when cooked it gives of an intense flavor of a Steinpiltz.
(These pics are from 2/1/11), i just uploaded them now along with some newer cyan pics.
-----
What are these things? I find these now more often than the documented Chlorophyllum rhacodes we all know.

Macroscopically they certainly look like normal C. rachodes. You may have some variety of that species that is different than your usual specimens.
If you want to get into the details, try googling "chlorophyllum key" and look at the pdf key Else Vellinga has put out on the Internets. If you really have something different, then there should be some microscopic differences, and her key will show what the norm is. If you actually have something different, then she is the one you should contact.
Happy mushrooming!

Does the ring have two edges, one upturned and one downturned?
If yes, C. rachodes, if no, C. brunneum.

Why are you tacking the var. bohemica on to the end of the name?
This might be C. rhacodes but more pictures of the annulus and base of the stems of more specimens are needed.
