Traveling Alone

So in a couple of months i have to drive from AZ to NY, about 40 hours of driving. I've done this drive before but I've always had a co-pilot to help with driving and to talk to to keep from losing my mind. This time its looking like i have to make the journey by myself. Have any of you ever made a similar drive, if so what strategies did you use to keep yourself from going insane during the endless hours alone behind the wheel? the best way of doing this that i can think of is to get up really early each morning, take some speed and drive untill it starts getting dark then find a campsite or place to crash and repeat. i figure if i do it like this and aviod driving through the night it might make things easier, other than that and the typical listening to music n smokin weed i have no other ideas of how to make this drive easier.

I hate speed of any kind but will munch some for a trip like that. Just enough so it feels like clean coffee not enough to feel anything more or interfere with sleep time when its that time.

I prefer to drive all night and sleep in the day. You make better time with less stress. I usually don't use any drugs other than caffeine and weed.

I've made the drive from Houston to Wyoming for work on the solo, and while it's not nearly as long as a NY-ARI drive, it's still quite the trek. 20 hours give or take.
All I can say is....just drive. And jam. You'll be there before you know it.

You obviously dont suffer from night blindness. I used to like to do this when I was younger but it's nearly impossible for me now.
Anyway I prefer to travel alone most of the time. I find it enjoyable and a good chance to meditate.

I was falling asleep on a car ride back from a college I was visiting so I made a stop and got coffee no more issues there. It helps that I only drink caffeine every other week too.

if you're into podcasts i'd say download a whole bunch (plenty of free Terence McKenna talks on the Psychedelic Salon) and educate your mind, stir up the imagination.
either that or find some random person on craigslist who is looking for a ride out east
--------------------
"We are all intoxicated. We were born into an insane asylum, a world crazy-making. We believe what we see and hear. The real myth is the myth of sanity, of rationality: it's a disease that is eating away at the earth. All the poisons flow from our denial. We deny madness, we forget our crimes, we dismember the corpse, we imprison our children. We need poison to poison the poison, to remember the sacred nature of intoxication, the green body of the young god." ~ Dale Pendell

I drove from Tennessee to Oregon a while back by myself. No problems at all, although I will admit that I tend to be a solitary person, so I had no trouble doing it alone.
