Damn, that sucks.
And on a side note, I didn't know cops were using Mustangs now

sorta feel bad for that guy
the speeding ticket is just the beginning, court costs, impound fees, suspended license...etc.

Looks like a Ford Focus with a body kit to me, but it could be anything. All those little rice burner cars look the same to me.

The red car is a Mitsubishi Lancer, not sure what year however. I knew playing Forza 2&3 all those hours would pay off.
It's kinda disappointing to see that the hood scoop on the Mustang is non-functional other than to hold some lights.

No offense, but driving that fast on public roads endangers others, so I don't see the harm in some penalties for people who do. This is coming from someone who has earned his fair share, too.

Yeah, I know. I was just saying that it looked like a Focus, but at the same time it also reminded me of all those other rice burners at the same time. Sorry I didn't make myself more clear.

Your opinion is fine. I understand it. The way I see it tho, is once you turn a car on and start driving, you're a danger, whether you're going 60 MPH (normal speed on a highway) or 120 MPH. I agree with most traffic laws, but not speeding. Traffic will dictate how fast you go in your car.. if it's rush hour, you're not doing 120 anyway... if you're out in the middle of nowhere doing 120, really, what's the difference of going 60-70? If you are one of those douche bags that DO drive 120 when there is a lot of traffic, weaving in and out of traffic and shit, that's called reckless driving or aggressive driving and should be a completely different charge.

a couple of my cars topped off at 145 Those were the days... getting away with driving 100mph, without worrying about getting your license taken away! or maybe they could have, but luckily never did!

That's what I'm saying, it should be a different charge... a speeding ticket shouldn't exist... there should just be 'douchebag' tickets for people who don't know the appropriate time and place to drive fast.

there is a time and place for everything.. i dont think the street is really the place for fooling around with 1200+lb of steel doing 100+mph.. the physics dont work out.. go to a drag strip or a raceway have fun safely..

i just got s 200 ticket last week for 94 in a 65. 5 points but going to court to hope to cut a deal. Son of a bitch cop was sitting around for like a half hour getting paid to sit in a car on a nice sunny day on the toll road (spent 5 bucks in tolls already) and there was no reason to pull me over beside a bullcrap speed limit that didn't make any sense for that road. Marked me back several hundred feet to get me at 94 instead of when I came near him at 63. Sunny day, two clear lanes of traffic for miles, pretty much straight, and no wildlife in sight. Now that is a frustrating moment. I know that same guy would have sped as well, except he could flash a badge and get out of a ticket. Take my money state take my money fine, but those points are a mother fucker.

yea there was only one time where some assclown was weaving in and out of traffic and I was thinking "This asshole needs to be pulled over but of course, no pig in sight"
minutes up the road he's pulled over getting reamed out by a cop.

Last time I drove from SF to Seattle, I got pulled over in Oregon (of course) doing 78 in a 65 or something like that. I was nice, cop was younger than I am and a nice kid. Walks back to his car, I'm watching him in my mirror, a yellow Audi S4 blows by, he leans down at his radar gun, and runs back up to me, hands me my license and registration, says something like, "I think you've learned your lesson" and takes off in his car and pulls the Audi over up the road. Fucking classic.

dude it must be so fun to be a police officer. they get to race around in those cars and abuse them to fuck and back and the we pay for the service on it. anyone who is not a schmuck could see that the 5-0 get the ultimate perks
that guy in the car can afford 1k, look at the car. i usually drive 35mph to save gas these days... though if i had a 68 camaro it might be a different story

Cool. I like watching the Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca each year. They have all those Can Am cars. Some of the drivers take it pretty seriously and aren't afraid to exchange a little paint.

my uncle totalled his 70 chevelle.. granted it was a strip car.. mostly fiberglass and rollcage tubing.. but it was once a classic muscle car

Im scared of speeding too fast. Has anyone heard of the Nikki Catsouras story? It happened like about an hour from where I live.

A cop who is cruising around in his fast Mustang on a nice beautiful day with nothing better to do
I won't disagree that cops can occasionally have fun, or that they might get bored and fuck with people, but in situations like this they usually are genuinely concerned with safety. Example: Was leaving Humboldt with some friends, 5 people(2 of which just ate some shrooms), and at least a QP of herb. We were smoking a joint, I warned my buddy not to drive fast because I knew CHP in Humboldt was extra touchy about speeding, but apparently he didn't care because he was going 90+. RIGHT AS WE PUT OUT THE JOINT WE GET PULLED OVER. Girl sprays fu-fu stuff, but it still stunk so at that point I knew we were fucked, who can't smell burnt weed? So the cop runs up to the car and immediately starts lecturing my friend about his speed.."You were going 94, in Humboldt you lose your license for going that fast! blah blah blah" But he never once asked about drugs, nor did he bother identifying any of us besides the driver. He was so distracted with my friends speed that he let a whole shitload of illegal activities slip right under his nose. He could have rolled all of us, but all he cared about was us driving slower. After his lecturing he only wrote my friend up for 85 and let us go.
I mean, think about it, if you were highway cop who see's dead bodies from car accidents you'd be wanting to prevent them too.
And for all the people saying "who cares its a deserted road?" I CARE! Just because there's less people somewhere doesn't mean there's no people. Go to the drag strip and stop risking everyone else's safety for your own kicks.

Thats not exactly what happened. She stole her dads porsche because she was mad at her parents because they found out she was doing cocaine. So then she drove down the highway at like 120mph and clipped a car and flipped into a tollbooth. Have you seen the pictures of the aftermath?

No offense, but driving that fast on public roads endangers others, so I don't see the harm in some penalties for people who do. This is coming from someone who has earned his fair share, too.
Absolutely. Can you imagine how many more fatality wrecks we'd have if we had no speed limit? Come on. It would be absolutely ridiculous.
We already have enough deadly crashes every single day as it is. Having a reasonable speed limit cuts down on that.
