Filters for jar lids.
    #13996181 - 02/20/11 03:25 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

Just a quick question. I'm making up some filter discs for my jar lids and wanted to experiment with some extra materials I have laying around the house. The one in question is some old HEPA vacuum bags. They are still sealed, and never used. What are your thoughts? I've got tons of them, so this will save me some time and dollars. Package says it filters down to .3 microns Thanks in advance for any help.

Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.

These should work well for lid filters.  The two things needed are the blockage of airborne nasties and G/E, (Gas Exchange).

The cost is mostly why Tyvek is preferred, (as well as it's working well for it's intended purpose).

One stop to pick up my mailing supplies gives me hundreds of jar lid filters for free...

Have fun!
