Crashing can be caused by any number of problems, hardware or software. Could be a virus, could be drivers, could be RAM, could be power, could be overheating. Those are the most likely candidates. It depends very much on the nature of the crashing.
Windows is not hard to run stable. I have not gotten a virus/trojan in years, and I download tons of cracked software and don't even use an antivirus anymore, waste of resources. IMO my PCs at home and work are 10x more stable then any mac I've ever used. Or maybe I'm just biased becaus I work tech support in the gaming PC industry and I don't think there's even a mac in our building.. when people call and ask if we make a video card for mac, we are just like GTFO nub we don't support your kind go cry to the apple store.

No way. That wouldn't bias your opinion at all.

I didnt know they came out at the same time
Never even heard of a mac until they started putting ads everywhere.

You wont regret it, though I would say that is partially out of ignorance.

Based on what? "Stable" is completely arbitrary.
No stable is not completely arbitrary. Macs run a modified version of BSD, PC's run Microsoft's bloated codebase with kludge after fucking kludge where even the programmers don't know what the fuck is happening overall. Thats why Microsoft hired some really smart PhD's to start designing a new kernel (MinWin). BSD is a much better OS base. Windows can effectively go fuck itself

I have no idea what that means, so I'm just going nod my head and agree What would you have to say about the Linux OS'?

You are extremly ignorant and behind the times.
Macs of more points of input than any PC. Mac's desktop and laptops recognize gestures. I can touch my tracpad with an array of fingers and motions to do different things. Windows an the likes are years behind by forcing a (left or right) single or double click on their users. Rather than right click, I can touch with two fingers and achieve the same thing. I haven't used a 5 button mouse since the standalone tracpad came out and couldn't dream of going back. There is virtually a gesture for everything, and Apple releases new ones from time to time. I also have intertial scrolling, which is something you don't realize how awesome is until you don't have it.
Macs are superior in design, usability, and accessibility. You definitely get what you pay for and is why I am willing to pay more for a Mac. Not only that, it syncs with my iPhone and iPad.

I use Mac and iOS devices for personal use, but any server I have is running a GUIless version of Ubuntu server. I love Linux, but the interfaces aren't refined enough for my personal tastes. If I didn't have a Mac, I would certainly use it over Windows, but even a fan of Linux, I still can't say it's even close to the usability of my Mac, from a workflow perspective. I'm not saying Linux isn't capable, because it is very capable but it doesn't have the things I need that save me loads of time in my job...until you start getting into server side scripting, then it saves my life.

The only people that won't agree with what I'm about to say are people who have never owned a Mac. Let me tell you: MacBook pros are leaps and bounds ahead of any laptop on the market on terms of build quality. They cost a healthy premium above the competition, but you'll know where your money went. To start, the trackless on these things are just out of this world. With other laptops they're slow, laggy, and just horrible to use. These are incredibly responsive and fluid, couple that with all the gestures it recognized (three fingers left you go back a page in firefox, the to the right to go forward, just to name one) make it unlike any other. And just overall, the build quality is stunning. Feels insanely well put together. Haters will bitch and moan and claim their windows machines are just as fast, but my Mac hasn't slowed down ANY since the day I got it and it's great. Nothing to worry about at all, never crashed (not once), or froze or anything.
You'll hear something different only from people who have never owned a Mac. I myself was a skeptic and didn't believe in these pretentious apple computers until I got my first one about a year and a half ago. I'm a computer tech and have worked with hundreds of different types of laptops and desktops.

I really like my Macbook Pro. I enjoy using it much more than any other computer I have used. That being said, it costs a lot of money. The only reason I got one is because my grandmother left me a lot of money to buy a computer for college.
Great post Noticeofevection, I agree.

Macs are prone to crashing like any other computer. It just depends on how hard you push your computer.
My friend who produces music on his Macbook Pro has his Mac crash daily.

I hate windows! I have had both and I love my macbook pro. The OS is way more user friendly (Macs are very simple to use). So much easier to keep files tidy and at your finger tips. Hands down...Apple has better support. I think really though, my bias stems from this beautiful piece of hardware...
