I bet I know someone on here who would LOVE this movie...
Just finished it. It's tough to keep a single scene movie going for 90 minutes but I think they did a good job. The last 20 minutes was worth the first hour all day long!

I didn't see it quite that way. I found it interesting that in the credits Samuel L is under "black" and Tommy Lee Jones "white". Although they were probably categorizing them by their skin color, I thought this was crude and saw it in a different light. Samuel's character was filled with beliefs, which aren't necessarily profitable. On the other hand Tommy Lee Jones' character seemed to accept, although cynically, the impermanence of the human experience. They both had qualities I admired and loathed. IMO, The transience of the human experience doesn't mean we aren't getting something out of this on some unperceived level. What Samuel describes as the "source" could be benefiting from the play of human existence.

It was OK but they were both being far too dramatic/whiney about it all IMO.

I like it when I hear stuff like that from Shakespeare but most of the time I can't stand to sit through any stage reproductions of his work. I don't know whether that's because it's hard to act/direct or it's just my shitty concentration. Mind you, I did use to love a midsummer night's dream when I was a kid.

I agree. It's hard to understand old english.
But some of the plays are profound studies of the human condition.
I live within five blocks of one of the best shakespeare companies and theaters in the US.
