Condensation on the bottoms of colonizing jars?
    #13990676 - 02/19/11 03:53 PM (13 years, 14 days ago)

my jars have been colonizing in my room the past 18 days, I just started giving them 4 hours of light a day, I just noticed that the bottom outside of the jars look wet , like condensation. Is this normal?

Yes

jars should retain a fairly high moisture content

how are they looking at about day 18? how much are they colonized?

condensation is normal, like a bunch of water droplets....But make sure it isn't like a huge puddle...

Don't do that again. From here on out you should let your jars colonize under ambient lighting from day 1. Don't keep them in the dark anymore.

That is due to the temp difference between the inside and outside of your jars. You must be somewhere humid? Texas, the south?

The real question should be what the jars look like on the inside?

Do you have any Pics?

Are there lids under that foil?

If not you should take it off.

no lids, just a foil layer with holes from the injection, and then another layer covering them.

the white balance is not adjusted on your camera.  If you're using indoor incandescent light bulbs, you need to select the light bulb icon on your camera, or use auto.
