These are picture I took while out gold mining yesterday. There are some interesting types of fungi in the area I was at. Just wanted to post some of the better photos for your enjoyment.
This one was my favorite.
The area I was in was super cool. Even found old railroad tracks burried in the river

I thought the scarlet cups were just garbage at first lol. It was a decent day, maybe 1/8th oz. One flake bout the size of a grain of rice (nice little picker)

Thanks man. I'm not sure the brown thing is even a type of fungi. Kinda looks like a lichen, but it sure looked cool.

Awesome! 5 is epic. Love the last shot, old railroad track-turned creek bed and tons of moss. Nice shots!

Thanks everyone, and I appreciate the id's Thinker and Sage. I was pretty close with the ones I wrote down in the field, so that's encouraging. The polypores alwayse give me trouble. Last october I found a log in the same area covered in reishi, but couldn't harvest any in time The area is really secluded with steep canyons (Raging River out near Tiger summit, HWY 18) Can't wait to see what's growing in the spring. Tons of huge spruce trees as well, some over 6-7' in diam.

Ah, the west side. We still have three feet of snow on the ground and it's -10F in NE Washington this morning. It will be at least three months before we see any mushrooms over here. Nice stuff. RR

I feel your pain RR. Got some property over near Riverside that's got about the same weather and temps as where you live. Hope things start melting out for ya soon.
