Does Ecstasy cause brain damage or retardation?
    #13989002 - 02/19/11 08:00 AM (12 years, 11 months ago)

I remember watching a "movie" or documentary none-the-less on Ecstasy.

First of all, Ecstasy is MDMA right?

Hm, alright.
Well, the "movie" was depicting a bunch of teenagers or young adults at a party (I think in Amsterdam, I'm not sure) but they showed the teenagers having a fun time dancing and then taking Ecstasy.

They said Ecstasy causes euphoria and makes you happy, but then the narrator was like "Scientists are studying why these people are becoming retarded, it is surely the Ecstasy causing it." Or something like that.

Does Ecstasy cause retardation?

Of course not technical retardation..but prolonged excessive use can cause memory impairment and thinking abilities and depression among a couple other things. I don't feel like looking up a source for this at the moment but it's true. But MDMA in moderation is fine, it's not hard to become an e-tard, but it's also not hard to avoid it either.

Let me first say, I'm no doctor, and I have no reason to think moderate MDMA use causes retardation. On the other hand anybody I know that 'loves' rolling, and does it all the time, eventualy becomes a mental midget.....there's a reason they're called E-tards.

I think that once an "e-tard" stops taking a lot of Ecstasy for awhile they return to normal.

My girlfriend rolled a couple times a month or more from 14 to 21, 'a couple times' being the low estimate and 'every other day' the high.
We continued this when I met her for about a year and now it's more like a couple times a year, and in that time she's graduated college with a degree in journalism, and more recently was promoted to assistant manager at her job.

It can affect your memory, speech patterns, and emotional stability but any mildly intelligent person should be able to deal with it. I have all those issues, self imposed from smoking weed all day every day (not to mention the comparable amount of times I've done DXM), and I'm doing just fine as well.

It does not, here is a recent post in the news forum about it

But over use can put you in a special place for some time, but not permanently. Also always try to get pure mdma (brown powder or brown crystals usually) over sketchy rolls (pills) you never know what that shit is cut with.

Many years ago there was a documentary called "Reefer Madness".

If you ever get a chance to watch that, you will laugh a lot, and learn that documentaries are one of those things where someone can "prove" anything they want to, but it doesn't make it so.

It does not. See Valafars post which contains a thread with scientific studies.

However like everything you shouldn't overdo it.

Around here pretty much every "roll" is cut to shit with meth and piperazine. Although I don't think MDxx will cause too many problems, these certainly might.

I definitely still have some lingering effects from all the dirty rolls I binged on a few years back.
