stay away from computer while tripping

I ate a SMALL dose (1 gram) of mushrooms about four hours ago, its been a very mellow rainy night with good music by myself, just what I needed
I got up to smoke a bowl and for some stupid reason I opened up the computer and did my quick routine of checking things, out of habit
And I have an email from my dead father sent four hours ago that says "how are you doing?" It is no doubt the case that some bot or scam or whatever has taken over his old email account and is sending out spam, there is some weird link in the email that I'm sure is some trojan virus or something
But nonetheless it sent a heavy chill down my spine when I first saw it
People always talk about turning your cell phone off, as to not have any unexpected calls from relatives. Well how about unexpected emails from DEAD relatives???? Best stay away from gmail too. Good thing I'm not tripping hard, I'm getting bombarded with weird vibes

I love the computer when tripping. Email and communication is what you stay away from.

A weird one friend. But being who I am would consider it a sign of some kind even if it was a bot/virus. It was an odd time for you to receive something like that even if it was a bot. You came to no harm and ultimately if you read into it, it only shows your deceased relative cares for you ; ). I believe my late mum is watching down on my antics, lol.
Computers are quite interesting when on shrooms it;s almost like you get an insight to them working. plus so much to entertain the brain, music, visual stuff, shroomery : ), etc. etc. I find it pretty engaging, but if you get a technical problem with your puter it kills a good vibe real quick.

I agree completely... 95% of the times I have tried using computers while tripping hard, they have made me uncomfortable. For one thing, I find it really hard to compute with good posture for long periods of time with my current setup. One time on mushrooms, I noticed that looking at the computer screen actually made me nauseous.

When I have a good trip going, I can't even figure out my ipod!
I sometimes wanna listen to music and end up just sitting there looking at the device wondering about all the keys. When I push one, it doesn't do anything that makes any sense to me. I'm sure in that condition me trying to use a computer would be like Capt. Kirk arguing logic with Mr. Spock!

I think it depends on the individual I like to direct it wherever possible and my friend tends to take small doses so you can get stuff done. You can be quite productive even and conduct affairs in a new way !
I feel nauseaus if I have too long on a computer sober, get a dizzy feeling and feel a little ill. (square eyes)

Agreed
I didn't take enough
Lesson learned
1 gram is great when you have lots of sensory input, like outside on a sunny day, or at a show. When you lie in the dark with little sensory input though, its boring and not nearly as intense, which surprised me, because I thought it would be the opposite, I thought with less sensory input it would be more intense. Now I know. Should have probably eaten three times that much. I mean I have known this all along. But I still like to splash around in the shallow end a lot of the time because it is so gentle and forgiving. Honestly I am sorta new to tripping alone and I wanted to to take baby steps, I was a little apprehensive going in. But I way under dosed. After I smoked some pot I did begin to see some great flowing patterns though.

Totally, I had to reply: "At first I was angry that somebody had taken over my father's old email address. But in my impressionable state of mind, now you actually have me wondering, am I communicating with my dead father through email right now?? If so, then I love you, dad."
Hahah just in case my dad is using gmail to communicate with me from the afterlife. I didn't want to risk screwing that up.

Damn!
Sorry to hear that.. probably a good thing that you decided to dose low that day!
Happy travels on your next solo trip, though!

Fascinating! That meshes pretty well with my experience once... I took an eighth on a nice spring day, but it was weak as hell so it was only as good as a gram tops of good mushies. I walked around outside listening to music staring at the clouds all day, and it was fucking great despite how weak the trip was.
How many grams do you think a cutoff point would be for you? I'm curious what you think because I'm planning a mushroom trip on bicycle day, and I'm trying to figure out what to do. On the one hand, I love nature, and live pretty close to the woods. It would be amazing to be outside during my trip. On the other hand, I definitely want to trip hard and long. So I don't want to have to deal with blinding light if I'm tripping too hard, or worrying about other people there who aren't tripping or most importantly crossing the street. But if I trip inside, I want to make sure that I trip hard enough to enjoy it.

Cutoff point? Oh man I dont even know what that means. Most I've eaten was 5 grams, but that is meaningless, I don't think they were the most potent. Tripped much harder from eighths or even less of a more potent species.
I tend to think around 2 grams is perfect for me. Enough that I am engaged and not bored or disappointed, but not enough to risk being totally overwhelmed. I've had a great time on a full eighth many times but it has been years and I admit I'm a little more cautious these days, and I remember those trips getting pretty intense, for sure... Anyway a couple grams is good for social things but as I said I'm not so experienced with dosing alone. After last night's experience I'm starting to think two grams would be aiming low for an intense inward journey. But being the cautious person I am, that is how much I will take next time anyway. I can ease my way into the intense part over a few trips, I have plenty of mushrooms.

computers are confusing when on psychedelics. I like to use my itunes page, but that's about it. One of the last times I tool LSD, I came on here and it was just really confusing. Saw some cool sigs and stuff though.
I usually shoot for at least 3 grams for a good inward journey.

Man on LSD i was trying to figure out how to play something I wanted to hear on my friend's computer. I was so confused! It made no sense at all. But I think this is probably in part because his taste in music was horrible, and there was nothing I wanted to hear. It looked like a foreign language. I managed to find some pink floyd as that was the only thing he had that was decent.
I always try to make a playlist beforehand now.

I've been high enough on LSD that I couldn't figure out how to work my cd player
My MP3 player can be challenging sometimes too.

I feel ya man, trying to read words on a little lit screen is nearly impossible, when they are all spinning and multiplying and dancing off the screen.
I have a record collection, lots of great classic rock, lots of beatles, pink floyd, hendrix, all the stuff I love to listen to when I'm tripping. But man working a record player is too much. I enjoyed doing it for the nostalgia once or twice. I really do like the sound better. But a side of an lp is only like 25 minutes, so you have to get up and change it way too often. Computers make it so much easier. I can't tell the difference in quality when I'm that high anyway.
Try picking something to listen to out of a stack of 100 lps! We take technology for granted.
