First time growing B+ shrooms in a pre-mixed growkit from the Netherlands. Don't know what's in the mix other than B+ spores. Started on the 5th. Just added water. Let soak for 17 hours. Drained water real good then put in plastic bag with paper clips to seal it. Started pinning three days ago.

Thanks. And before anybody goes on a rant about growkits I'll give you one. Just read some other threads so I know how you feel about growkits. Well I've wasted much more money on other drugs. Just about anything I could get my hands on. I'm now clean from opiates and alcohol for a month and a half. Even quit weed almost 40 days ago so I should be cleaned out from that. Had to burn a bridge with my weed dealer cause his stuff wasn't that great and what really was the final straw was selling me a beat eighth of shrooms for $45. I've been tripping balls about once a week since the middle of December on magic truffles which I got from the same place as the kit. Well basically what I'm sayin' is my life has been changing for the better with the truffles and now with the shrooms and it will only inspire me to learn how to grow from scratch. Maybe some people need to start somewhere just to see it's possible. Shouldn't knock it just cause you're an expert with experience.

So you have that in a sealed bag?

Most people don't like growkits because they are illegal to buy in alot of places..So if you order one you are risking your freedom. They are rip offs, and alot of the places that sell them are bogus.....That is why they have a bad rap.....Yes though, I can see how they are a starting point but you don't learn much getting them

Yes. That was the instructions. I would mention where I got the kit and you could see the instructions for yourself, but I don't want to shill for the place. Don't know if mentioning places like that are allowed here.

I'm learning that it's not impossible.

Sure. My first flush won't be ready to pick until about this coming Wednesday though. Don't know what stage you're at.

i ordered a grow kit before i started growing myself too. it took them 4 1/2 months (!!!) to ship it (NL->GER) and the results were fairly disappointing. but the shrooms told me that growing on my own is the real and only way to salvation. hence i'm here. end.

Yes, that would be a good idea. I was wondering if I could just use the kit over and over by just adding spores back to it after I get as many flushes as I can get with it now? Or is it used up after that? Is it good to go as long as there is no contamination? This kit took about five weeks to get to me. I've been getting the truffles in 7-10 days but the box for them is smaller. I guess the kit sat in customs longer.

I am growing from a kit that I bought off ebay. It is the PF tek method. I kinda ordered it cuz I wasn't sure what components i needed and was kinda lazy to research the net about the proper setup and go to home depot, and other stores for the components.
Now I am preparing a grow with my own setup, still PF tek, but on a larger scale. I've had more time to shop around for the neccessary components, and the grow kit gave me an idea of what I needed (again u could search the net).

After the kit flushes 2-3 times it will no longer be good as the mycellium has worked through the entire substrate. You should really try the PF tek method as described by RR as it is simple, effective, and relatively cheap. Check them out here.

Didn't know what PF tek meant. After a quick search now I know. Back in the eighties I ordered a shroom growing kit that had instructions involving a pressure cooker and building a wood and glass enclosure to mix everything under the glass. Seemed too involved so I threw it away. Seems like you still need all the sterilization crap that you needed back then. That's really what turned me off from it.

You will probably get 2 or 3 flushes off of it, maybe just one...and then throw it out.....Mushrooms need air exchange too. Lack of fresh air results in long stems and the tiny caps are because of improper lighting

Nah, the PF tek is incredibly simple and does not require a pressure cooker; just a large pot in which you can steam your jars. As long as you live in a relatively clean house and can follow directions you should be able to pull off a simple PF tek grow.

Wow, $49 for those two dvd's. They could at least be in HD. I found it on The Pirate Bay anyway. So they should be getting more air and light? But not direct sunlight, right?

The bottom couple paragraphs describe the proper lighting
http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Terrarium-Tek
Since your sub is in a bag, Im not sure I would take it out....But this article also provides other useful info on growing chambers....Maybe you can cut a few tiny slits in it with a knife just so that some air can get in and out but it will also maintain the humidity

no, mushrooms never want direct sunlight. INdirect sunlight is perfect. or any light on in the house will be fine. your long stems have nothing to do with the lights, its the lack of fresh air exchange what does it. because too much CO2, not enough O2.
thats why your pinset didnt turn out as well as it could have either. I can tell you're just scared to give the PF tek a try just because of pressure cooker(youre over analyzing it, and thinking its going to be harder than it is. its really easy bro, i think steaming would be more of a hassle)
Just trust us on this one. u already knew we'd dog on the kits...hahaha but hey at least you got shrooms man, so that is great. keep the pics coming.

I think my first pic threw you off. The substrate is in a small plastic tub which is inside the bag. So I could take the whole tub out but I thought being in the bag was good for humidity.
