Estimated annual numbers of first time LSD use * 1
    #13984638 - 02/18/11 01:12 PM (13 years, 14 days ago)

Everyone liked this picture in the Ozzy thread in the News forum, so I thought I'd post it here.  You can see so much in this picture.  The first peak is in 1971.  This is during the time Tim Scully and Nick Sand were producing massive quantities of acid.  Then you see a big dip down at about 1976/1977.  This was when Operation Julie took place and Richard Kemp and Christine Bott, et all, were busted and 6 million tabs and enough crystal for 13 million doses were seized.  The British feds claim a 90% reduction in LSD production.  Then you see another peak at 2000 and then a huge spike down.  This was the Pickard/Apperson bust.  Again, the feds (DEA) claimed resulted in a 90% reduction in LSD production.

What happened in the middle?  Your guess is as good as mine.  I'm afraid the facts will be lost to history.  Thank you to the brave souls who clandestinely put their lives on the line to elevate human consciousness.

Funny how we see these people as an attempt to elevate human consciousness, and the government sees them as hardcore felons.

But the "substitute effect", as Pickard calls it, happens with a boom in mushroom and ecstasy use.

I would guess that maybe 1 out of 50 people I've met shares my own views of psychedelics (that they are for growth) and that the rest simply wants walls to move. I don't doubt there are many who use them for good but to paint with that wide of a brush isn't correct.

I do think people should be able to take a substance that makes walls move though if thats what they are looking for. Fuck the government for regulating what's inside of your body while promoting McDonalds and the like.

Can they not be for both?

I really liked the graph but could find no insightful comment to make about it.

I dont think drugs would have such a bad reputation if they didnt pull examples from crackheads and people who use H heavily, etc. It's because of those drugs that people frown upon psychedelics I think, because they seem to generalize not by what drug it is, but by..."Oh its a drug, so it must be bad"

All the bullshit that the DEA feeds you. Blehh  :argh:

qft. i run into this kind of mentality often. i mostly keep my discussions about "drugs" to a minimum. most folks are just far to brainwashed to have any sort of balanced psychedelic drug conversation with.

Nick Sand is back in action with the legal license to work with it.
I know some people who studied under him.
Coincidentally there is good acid in the midwest now.

I think we're at another spike in the graph now. In all my years of tripping Ive never seen the market so flooded.

i generally have a hard time finding any psychedelics. but that could be because i live in Georgia and the rednecks down here only seem to like alcohol and meth.

fuck that shit.

Its very sad and very fucking lame. Most people are just ignorant and are so programmed that they wont hear it any other way than the way that was pounded into their brain.
