Second one looks
Tell me about chickens man.
I couldn't get a cube to grow for 3 months no matter how hard I tried.
I learned a lot in those three months I'll tell you that.
Learning is half the fun even though its frustrating sometimes.

Sitting here now with two fruiting reishi blocks, and a shiitake block makes me ALMOST forget the terrible failures that have happened in the past.
Is 100% motivation to keep going!

Looking good evil.I know what you mean about this hobby testing you at times.
I can't wait to start these that wedge you sent me has filled the plate already which is amazing.
I must get some more agar and do a master culture then i could give some wedges away and carry on your generosity.

I'm really interested in seeing what kind of differences you get between the pasteurized vs the sterilized blocks. Higher yields is nice and all, but sterilizing is just sooooo energy intensive that i'd rather use other routes if possible.
Your blocks are looking wicked good as far as i can tell.

A week later here is how the pasteurized blocks are doing:
I stripped this block down and moved it into my FC for shits and giggles

The second block I left in the bag

My camera died as I was taking pictures so perhaps later I will post a few pics of the supplemented blocks.

My reishi sapwn jars are coming along nicely.
I have got loads of cardboard and was thinking of using that as my sub. What do you think?

Go for it! I have seen successful reishi grows on nothing but cardboard, check the search engine, and grow logs. I myself have been saving all my waste cardboard for the spring, plan to spawn oysters and reishi to it for outdoor grows.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I love watching these fruits grow and branch out, they form in some interesting patterns and shapes.
Here are some pictures of the supplemented blocks as promised:

That looks great! EM, I learned a lot reading your earlier reishi thread. I currently have a few rye jars colonized, and recently got my hands on a wood chipper. Soon enough, I might be doing the reishi bag thing myself. Can't wait!
Thanks for sharing your journeys!

Im glad that so many people got something useful out of my last failure with reishi. At least something good came out of it!
Things are looking much better this time around.
Good luck with your future grows my friend!
