Fuck you, EA.
You're a big, stupid, poopy mega-corporation. I'm addicted to your dumb, unrealistic racing games. Maybe it's because I like watching supercars run into each other like go-karts. Maybe it's because I enjoy a sense of speed I can't get in real life without pissing my pants.
You know what I don't enjoy? An otherwise beautiful game that looks like a clean MDMA pill, only it's actually mostly Meth. This game looks awesome. But the oversteer on every car is so retarded it's unplayable. Even after patches, the dead zone settings don't work, and the slightest flick of an analog stick sends my shitty Mazda spinning like a merry-go-round.
Why the fuck would you allow a racing game this awesome to be released with control settings fucked so bad you can't turn the car without it wagging like a dog tail?
Last time I ever pirate one of your games, EA. You shit's not even worth stealing anymore.
Except Dead Space 2. And that mirror game. And that other one. Damn you EA.
Vent complete.
Thoughts?

The last real NFS games imo. Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit (1998) Need for Speed IV: High Stakes (1999)
--------------------
It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. Also he got a race car. Is any of this getting through to you?

I can agree those were great, but the Graphics are to be desired and you know, the new ones (Underground, Undercover) are pretty fun. I just don't understand how out of all these games that don't have any control issues all the sudden they release one that damn near can't even be played.
This is why i torrent before I buy. because they're selling hopelessly broken software. If they'd labeled it "requires arcade wheel" I wouldn't be so pissed. But there's literally no way to get this game to work seamlessly with an analog pad.

I spent three hours trying the different settings, but no matter what I do the analog range for the accel is so narrow you're either flooring it or sitting still...
I went on a game forum and asked, they told me to set my settings to absolute extremes and then tune all the way to understeer (cautioning me that if I hadn't patched, that slider was labeled backwards- seriously EA?)
Once I did this it was marginally playable if I feathered the stick to make turns. But that was by no means functional. You could forget about passing opponents without hitting them, tapping the stick will send your tail end smoking.
Sad thing is, the game looks sick as hell. Like Forza but simpler, smaller, more ghetto.

It's the best racing game I've played. I've got my own racing chair with a Logitech G27 wheel, in front of 52" plasma. The force-feedback is very good, you can feel when your tires just start to slip.. Shit gets really intense

That's like, exactly what i just said I didn't want.
I want to pick up an controller and pretend I'm driving a Zonda. I don't play racing games enough to warrant spending hundreds of dollars on a peripheral with a singular use. I would rather have a nice Wacom or something.
Anyway the fucked part is, I can actually play it and do alright, but only if I drift /every corner/ and /do not turn/ on straightaways, at all.
It's very clear they designed the controls to work with a wheel and then just said they were done and didn't port the control modifications the consoles no doubt got to the PC version.

if you want more arcade, try the PC titles GRID and Dirt 2 by Codemasters, they're pretty fun but not as rough as GT5

seriously! I love NFS but they have been lacking lately. I liked Shift but it's track racing and it was much better on the open road running from cops and dogging traffic

Oh, cosmetic car customization is a must.
GRID was fun, but got bland pretty quick.

i just wish NFS was the only problem... 80% of the games they release nowadays are shit... there is no more passion in the games, only economics... what is cost effective, what will make the most money
