Alright so I got the box with the power supply open and took the fan out, there was another fan inside the pc I took out but I take it I'll be using the bigger fan. I read I can get some magnets from the processor. Any help guys?

There are no magnets in the processor.
Pull the hard drive apart and when you can actually see the disks there will be an assembly which moves back and forth across the disks.  Pull this assembly apart until you find the magnets.
The magnets are usually glued onto a piece of metal for mounting purposes, just hold the metal with pliers or in a vice and slide the thinnest flat head screwdriver you can find in there, the magnet should pop right off.
Also try not to scrape off the shiny coating on the magnet, I believe (although I'm not completely sure) that it's not very good for you.

Once you've done that just stick the magnet onto the fan.  The magnet is easily powerful enough to hold itself in place.
Turn the fan on low and try to center the magnet so it doesn't wobble (be careful here I've had the magnet fly off a couple of times when it was way off balance).
After that you need to take some plexi glass or part of a cd case or something and put a cover on the fan so you can place your jars on top.

I went all out on mine, bought a 6" project box at Radio Shack, a dial knob, a lit on/off toggle switch, and a rheostat (for speed control). The three things I recycled were an old cell phone charger, the hard drive magnets and the computer fan (standard 80mm).

It's not packaged very well internally but I can take pictures if you want. I have a video on youtube of it in operation.

That's pretty cool man, I'm not going for that quality right now but in the future definitely. That things pretty sweet  I like the power control maybe I can add that later.

I think the parts ran me about $15-$20 total, the project box was the most expensive piece and the power switch can be gutted from pretty much anything. I just wanted something that was clean and looked nice sitting around.

I also knotted and heavily siliconed the power cable inside the box for strain relief. It's not going to be pulled out anytime soon.

:mjk: So where are these magnets:laugh2:

Sorry I'm not very familiar with the anatomy of a computer

All the screws on this thing are those special 5 star bullshits. I've seen em back when I used to machine shit. I always hated how they'd mix and match metric/standard and then throw other shit in there.

Is the magnet this center piece

Thats pretty cheap, ill definitely invest in a nicer model down the road, right now my shopping list is full, kinda seems like an ongoing thing. Eveytime I get what I want there's always something else.

That thing in the middle is not the magnet.
You need to flip the drive over to the metal side and take the metal cover off.  The screws are probably under some sticker or something.

You will still need the torx screw drivers though.  There are multiple sizes of torx so make sure you get the right size.

Once you have the cover off there are only 2 moving parts inside the drive as far as I remember.  The spinning disks, and the read/write assembly that slides back and forth over the disks.  It's really easy to spot once the drive is opened up.
You want to take apart the read/write assembly, not the disks.

Thanks for the help, it's appreciated, I didn't know I was going in the wrong side but I did know those wrenches came I'm different sizes, lol. When changing certain inserts and drills on lathes I'd run into that shit all the time.

That piece on the right of your second pic is what you want to start ripping apart.  I think there are two magnets usually.

One on the underside of that metal piece and then another at the very bottom of the assembly

Ok did that and here's what I got. Just 1 magnet with 2 pieces of metal on each side. Also a choice of power supplies. I think ill use the motorola cause its got the wires separated and is slimmer.
