Me and Steve and Steve

I was in Silicon Valley in the halcyon days and worked alongside Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak (but not at Apple Computer).
Both Steves are very rich - and I am not. Both Steves were into fitness. Now Wozniak is twice the size as when I knew him and Jobs is gaunt as a Dachau victim and dying of cancer.
We are all roughly the same age. (I am slightly younger than both.)
What is my point? I guess just a reflection of health, wealth and mortality.
I feel like fate passed my by in stock options and fancy houses and cars - yet I feel very healthy and will ilkely have many more good years.
So who really won the game of life out of the three of us?

The one who had the most fun while they were here.

Yeah me too. But at least I don't give a shit so much anymore.
I ran into the ex (you know who) the other day. Found myself oddly pleased I'm no longer involved. Now that's progress. I actually wondered what the fuss was all about.

Each person wants different things in life. The one that is the most satisfied and happy with what he has received/earned wins. In other words the one that is the most self-actualized. Unfortunately life can be a bitch and make it harder or impossible to get what we want from it. A lot of the time we are our own bitches though .

Oh yes. After years of playing the victim, I realised that I am usually the one holding the whip.

I also do that. I try to avoid it as much as possible. I guess it's not as bad as being other people's bitch. It's best to avoid that as much as possible or make it unintentional .

I've noticed that you are very concerned with winning and losing. Are you just now realizing that a successful life is not about fancy houses and cars?

You mean in your opinion. 'Cause I wonder how it would be if you actually made such a claim for every other living being.

How would you know what life is about for anyone but yourself? Get off your high horse and btw you are just as concerned about winning and losing as anyone else. Your posts demonstrate that.

I don't own a high horse, but if I did own a horse, I don't think I would let him/her smoke any pot.

Why not?

I am just now realizing that an old friend is near death because his gaunt image and pancreatic cancer news has been flashed on the tube. Should I not reflect on this?
How do you react when you hear such news of someone who was a part of your past?
