Is this tub ready?

Hey folks,
So I'm wondering if my monotub is ready for fruiting. It looks to me like there's a bit left to be colonized. I spawned it on January 30th, so it's been colonizing since then. Temps are about 62-68 here.

5 qt jars of WBS (approx 3/4 full each) 1 brick of coir 2 quarts verm
I just figured since it's fairly cold, it's running slower than it could. I checked it about a week ago, and it has been progressing very well from there, so I don't think it has stalled.

as long as its still colonizing, give it more time...if it appears to stall go ahead and introduce fruiting conditions..

Lower temps are fine but they do slow things down. Even 5 degrees is a huge difference for myc (I've found). 68F is doable but 75F is ideal. Keep on waiting until it's 100%, your myc looks really healthy so you probably will be able to birth this weekend.

when you do birth...remove the tape from the plastic liner, when your substrate starts to shrink and pull away from the sides you want your liner to pull away with it..

Thanks Boris, and no problem - I'll throw some pin pr0n and growing pr0n as things progress. I'm keeping a log of this in my journal here as well.

can't you raise the temps a bit? that would help it colonize faster.

They are in the one room in my house that does not have heating in the room. The door is left open to get heat from the rest of the house, but it's still a little cooler. We have central heating, so one thermostat controls the whole house (yay for 80 year old homes). If I turn it up any higher, I'll smoke out my friend downstairs, and I won't be able to sleep at night upstairs. Our middle floor is the perfect temperature though, and our bedroom is just a bit cooler (which I like - and it has heat, just not the other room, which is odd. Did I mention when we moved in that the other room also had a clasp lock on the outside of the door? Creepy...)
I have a space heater (digital oil heater) that can give me room temps of whatever I want, but I have a hard time running it all day and night in the middle of winter here, which means I also have to close the door and then it becomes an oven in there with no air circulation. I don't really mind the longer colonizing time (though my PF jars are getting a little irritating...), so it's not a huge deal. I may turn it on just to keep the room at 70 during the day, then kill it at night.

you'll be happy with the cooler temp's once you begin getting fruits...i love fruiting at 60-65 degree temps, you get nice thick really dense fruits no hollow stems...as well the shrooms look realllly healthy..

fruited at 58-60degree's

Those are some respectably dense fruit bodies. Wow.
