reusable containers for running large amounts of sawdust spawn?

I'm starting to make sawdust and/or woodchip spawn for inoculation of outdoor beds this spring. I'd like to use something reusable, but larger then 1/2 gallon jars and cheaper then huge glass jars. I plan on doing this aseptic to start, so being able to PC in not an issue.
Last year i tried 5 gallon buckets with a polyfil filter in the top, i filled them 1/2 way and let them go. They fruited like crazy and then got contaminated before i had a chance to use them outside. I think started them to early and also made the spawn to deep.
Next try is 2 gallon plastic bucket with 4 3/4" holes spread around it covered with tyvek.
Other ideas welcome.

Large autoclave bags with either a homemade filter patch or polyfil zip-tied in at the top? I've been cutting down bags that are roughly 24x36 to smaller sizes for personal use. Maybe you could just use some full size?

I'd like to know this too. I think it's important for growers to use environmentally friendly or reusable materials wherever possible.
How many time can you really use an autoclave bag though? Seems like eventually it would give out. Maybe if you were using a really thick/high grade plastic...

So i have SRA and phoenix oysters in 2 gallon buckets with 4 3/4" holes covered with tyvek (tyvek is hotglued on). then plastic over the top. We'll see how that goes.
The rubbermaid tubs is a pretty good idea, i think maybe i'll try plastic baskets inside a monotub type tub next.
i'll keep you all posted and post photos if people want.

IO,
So how large of an area were you planning on doing with this spawn? Are you planning on burying the block in bulk or crumbling it and spreading it around?
For example, I was going to try SRA as well. However I was just going to make a few blocks in small bags and then bury the blocks whole as a first attempt at outdoor growing.

i'm planning on crumbling them into chip beds, depending on if i expand the spawn again before setting it out i might just do a 2-3 foot square bed and then expand it next year.
i think i will try the phoenix oyster on some conifer logs, i'll try sandwitch, wedge and plug style inoculation if i have the time.

Im up to three times. I use the bags first run for shiitake, then I use the same substrate after it has fruited and sterilize it again. Once sterilized the second run is for oysters. After the oyster is done. I empty the bag out and rinse it letting it dry. For the third run I soak some cardboard and then let it drain and cram it in to the bag to be sterilzed for reishi inoculation. From the looks of the bag I think I can get a couple more runs out of it. The cardboard is much more forgiving than wood chips. myc

Here is success story # 1, 1/2 gallon SRA grain spawned to 1.5 gallons pasteurized hardwood sawdust in a monotub style bucket. Incubated at ~55-60*f for 3 weeks.
Success #2, 1 Pint Shiitake grain spawned to ~1/2 gallon pasteurized hardwood sawdust in a regular milk jug with tyvek over the neck. Incubated at ~55-60*f for 10 days, 50%+ colonized and running strong.
Onto the next experiment, To accommodate deeper spawn runs, i hot glued some tyvek panels into the sides of these containers, these are 2nd gen SRA sawdust to sawdust.
