I had no clue it had gotten so bad. Slowly but surely i stopped mixing and eventually stopped producing. Not only that, but i started to notice the crowds changing at shows it went from a mix of normal people, to emo kids and bros.
Haha. This happens with just about any "underground" genre of music; it gets more popular. If you regard it as "good music" what do you expect? Just continue listening to what you like and ignore the rest.
Remix knows whats up. I picked up Dubstep several years ago as well, back when it was still underground, and really good. I tried getting my friends to listen to it, but only a couple of them really enjoyed it. After a while, I noticed shittier and shittier tracks being pumped out left and right, and more and more people started picking it up.
"Have you heard Rusko's new track man? Derp, derp, derp, filthy dubstep bro!" I was pissed at first, but then I realized that these "Brosteppers" and idiots had no taste in music whatsoever, and didn't know what true Dubstep was.
So my advice to you, If you still enjoy Dubstep that is, is to just ignore them and their shitty music, and enjoy your music. There are still good artists out there, you just have to dig through all the shit to get to the good stuff.

It's what happens when something is packaged for mass appeal.
It loses it's character and becomes watered down garbage.
(misnomer: I've never cared for dubstep, but it has gotten especially bad as of late)

LOL. you wish that was the case. i dont listen to a genre of music without becoming extremely well versed in it and its origins.

is sucks, doesn't it.
well, anyways... you can provide any critical viewpoint. i mean, i already know that i basically haven't worked on more then three backgrounds, split apart... didn't even have a beginning; didn't have any mastering cause i literally didn't work on that for more then half an hour on reason... it kinda has no real back bone yet other then what i worked out by the end... which is probably going to be a base for the song.
but you don't think any of the instruments or percussion sounded any good either?

I happen to agree with your assessment of the situation 120%. Shit was revolutionary when it first came on the scene. Now it's just a bunch of watered-down joker clowns all copying each other on the exact same hook 50 billion times in a row, no creativity whatsoever. There are still some good artists out there, but it's like a needle in a fucking haystack, And that doesn't stop the brostepper fanbois from crawling out the woodwork and saying DUBSTEP RULZ BRAH U JUS DONT KNO WHAT GOOD DUBSTEP IS

So the good dubstep in your opinion is more chilled out music sorta like trance meets dubstep?

I was gonna say this, but luckily someone else said it for me.
Here's a cool ambient dub track I just found: http://soundcloud.com/inofaith/reticent/

just practice. and dont think that bc i have a strong opinion on the matter that im worthy of critiquing your material. i was kinda rude about it and i apologize. honestly any questions you have about producing someone has already made a youtube video showing you how to do it, hell that's how i learned. that and practice. just spend time with whatever tools you are using and you'll become proficient before you know it.

I like the Acid bass line that comes in, Akira. The song sounds more like some oldschool acid house than anything else to me. The intro is cool, but I would drop with a heavier kick drum after four measures. Did you put a HPF or some kind of BPF on the kick drum? Because it's pretty high frequencies for a kick. The song overall definitely needs some EQing, but I like what I hear so far, and it has lots of potential.
Are you using only Reason? If you want some help with compression and EQing I'd be willing to give you a hand
