Mycelium legality in UK

Hi,
I thought I had posted this question yesterday but it appears as though I typed it all out (in a much better way than today) and failed to successfully post it. What a pain in a specific place!
Ok my question concerns the legality of psilocybe mycelium in the UK. I have spent some time googling the legislation and other sites and am still not clear on the law. Some articles suggest it is strictly illegal and some suggest otherwise.
From the Drugs Act 2005, it says that ...
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2005/17/section/21
"21 Inclusion of mushrooms containing psilocin etc. as Class A drugsE W
In Part 1 of Schedule 2 to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (c. 38) (Class A drugs), in paragraph 1, insert at the appropriate place— “ Fungus (of any kind) which contains psilocin or an ester of psilocin.”"
Here I guess the question is, does their use of the word 'fungus' mean just fruit bodys or does it encompass mycelium too.
The other side of the coin is that I have read that ...
http://www.tititudorancea.com/z/psilocybin.htm (under the biology heading)
"Mature mycelium contains some psilocybin, while young mycelium (recently germinated from spores) does not contain appreciable amounts of alkaloids."
So do you think that young mycelium could be a little loophole in the law and be legal as it contains no appreciable controlled substances?
Does anyone have any thoughts or concrete information? If you could suggest a link or cite any official source, that would be great.
P.S. Im only really interested in the UK law here, i know that our transatlantic friends seem to have different laws in various states and that just adds to the confusion.
P.P.S. The lack of clarity and lack of detail in the actual legal document '2005 drugs act' is amazing. Thank God we have such c

nope. myc deffo illeagal. since about 2007. Most national drug laws have been amended to reflect this convention (for example, the US Psychotropic Substances Act, the UK Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, and the Canadian Controlled Drugs and Substances Act), with possession and use of psilocybin and psilocin being prohibited under almost all circumstances, and often carrying severe legal penalties.
(thank you wikipedia ref psilocybin.)
anythinc containing psilocybin is illeagal in uk
ps...yay the midlands....im from markfield, leicestershire originally just off junction 22 M1.
mahalos.

Note that this discussion is about possession of fungus. Manufacturing with intent to distribute and conspiracy to commit the same are illegal whether you actually grow anything or not.
But really this would be better in the Security forum, it's off topic in Mush Cult.

Ok cheers guys, that is a shame though.
Think its a bit rich that they push 'intent to distribute' for any cultivation. It is much more likely that anyone doing this kind of thing would be doing it solely for themselves and have no intent to distribute.
I'm just trying to save myself the trouble of driving to wales and walking up huge mountains every year.
Shroomzi8, yay midlands indeed, im west midlands but I know a few people from Leics. Not a great part of the country for hunting is it.
Oh and I drive a diesel though, not that that isnt obscenely expensive

If you're just looking to grow a little fungus for yourself and maybe a friend, consider sclerotia. Fast, easy, fun. They will grow on brf cakes, you don't necessarily need a PC.

And yet there's no rush, you could leave the jars for months and months. Shoot a couple dozen now and snack all year.

Those jars were LC -> BRF. Takes longer with spores or with grains.
