That's a question where they're trying to figure out if you're a retard.

the fact taht you're taking a PRACTICE asvab is hilarious in-and-of-itself. Its hte asvab, you can't fail. oddsa are you'll place in the 99th percentile like me and everyone else who takes it. i'm not sure the military scoring dept knows what percentile means.

scoring high on the asvab is the deference between awesome travel jobs or losing your limbs from an IED. I hope you score well bro, good luck. Thankfully its pretty easy.

A series of cell divisions that results in the formation of an embryo is called: A. mitosis B. meiosis C. osmosis D. cleavage
It's meiosis. Mitosis is normal cell division. Meiosis is the division of the sex cells to form an embryo

yeah, thats why i figured I should at least check it out
i scored 100 on the paragraph comprehension and a 90 on the word knowledge but even basic math word problems sometimes elude me . i didnt get to see my score there because the crappy page locked up
But I plan on Air Force so i don't get my balls blown off. I mean, even if I totally stunk on all sections of the test, it's still highly unlikely that i'd ever seen combat in the air force, right?

nah meiosis forms gametes
mitosis turns the single cell into an embryo.

I think I got a 79 or something, never studied or took a practice test.
If you're gonna join, go in the Air Force or Navy. They're like 75% business, 25% military.
Army and Marines on the other hand are like -12% Business, so it's all what you enjoy. Personally I'd rather not get shot at.

While I agree with you that mitosis could be a right answer too, the fact that they specified embryo means it is probably cleavage. I think this is the first time I have used my bio major knowledge outside of the class or lab haha.

In organisms that reproduce sexually, once a sperm fertilizes an egg cell, the result is a cell called the zygote that has half of the DNA of each of two parents. In plants, animals, and some protists, the zygote will begin to divide by mitosis to produce a multicellular organism. The result of this process is an embryo.
i think cleavage is general for the final stages of mitosis/meiosis where the one cell pinches off the cell membrane to produce two new cells.

cleavage in embryology is the proceeding cell divisions after the egg is fertilized. so, no, it does not CREATE an embryo, only divides it.
