I hate how I'm always confusing my strands... Is there an easier way to make the bracelet? Can anyone give me some tips?

I'm having trouble putting the bead in. It keeps fucking up my strands..
and to your question; That quote just spoke out to me after watching 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas'. More of a personal reason you know?

it takes a lot of patience to learn how. try getting a board with a nail in it to attach it too.

Yeah, I'm learning. I refuse to look at youtube videos. I have no attention span and I'll probably just confuse myself. Plus i'm working with different colored hemp.

Maybe.. It's too late to go to the store now... ugh... I was hoping clipping the knot under the loop with one of my bows to keep in place. but the short strands and long strands are confusing me and I keep losing my place. I don't know which I should start with and etc...

Try making your hemp from scratch. I used to make Stinging nettle bracelets that were pretty badass. Only thing with stinging nettle is you have to oil it more often because it's not as durable as hemp. It grows abundant and naturally all over the USA though, so it's easier to find and work with. Make sure you use dead/dried ones

Oh, by 'oiling' it you mean applying beeswax to slip the bead in?

No, it helps to occasionally add certain oils to your cordage in order to improve it's strength. Even hemp, though it's not as necessary as weaker forms of cordage like stinging nettle.
It's similar to oiling your leather boots to keep them in good condition.
You know, it's really good to get into the habit of googling things when you hear something you don't understand/know about. If that doesn't turn up something, then the people here will be able to help you out. I'm not saying that people shouldn't ask questions, I'm just saying that it's better to be independent, rather than to rely on other to give you trustworthy answers.

Your picture looks like twine that is most likely a mixture of cotton and synthetic fibers.
You wont be needing to oil that, but what you have is probably not hemp (unless the packaging said otherwise).
