Pris, imagine if you ran a country. Would you be giving handouts to people?

I would offer to let the kid go. It isn't the poor kIds fault he can't go. Make his week and let him have fun with his new classmates. Could end up being good friends with your daughter. I vote for compassion.

I would give the ticket to the other kid, but definitely make sure to sit down with your daughter and explain it/perhaps plan another date to go to the circus together, and tell her that it will be just you two. Might take some sugar coating to keep her from getting upset, she might not fully understand the situation.

for money I work construction, most of what I make goes into maintaining a
farm and currently work is very scarce and all I'm getting is small jobs
and sometimes it's months between, like I said, this opportunity may not
come around again for some time

Quote:

I think you might avoid some flak from the other kid's parents, they might think you're being an asshole going to the circus in place of a kindergartener, even if it's for your own daughter, in my experience other parents tend to be quite blind to that kind of situation, if it's their kid at a disadvantage they tend to get really protective.

I could really give two shits about the other kid's parents and what they
may say, isnt it their responsibility to spring for $80 on a last minute
ticket if they want their kid to go? I dont know these people, never met
them, they just moved to this town so to me they still dont exist and for
all I know they're wealthy and can afford the $285 ticket for their kid

I'd let the kid go, I find that kids don't even really notice their parents when they go to these things.

have your daughter post on the shroomery,

you come to my house,

and I'll go to the show.

Problem fuckin solved.
