were they quite small compared to cubes? Could have been Liberty caps? They are quite potent.

that must be about the shittiest picture ever. Probably some variety of cubensis. there's 100's of them. Sounds like good marketing though.

If you go through Ralphster's spores website, you will find a catalog of all kinds of different cubensis strains. Pretty sure I've seen ones with nipple on top. I know I've seen ones that have a definite pronounced taper to the top.

There's literally not a single part of that picture that I can make out except to say that there's obviously some cellophane and either two fingers or some weird slugs or maybe two baby dicks on the bottom

Psilocybe caerulipes are known as Bluefoots. I doubt yours are them though.
Better pictures would help.

^this I've heard enough of "Blue Caps" and all the other names. Guess I should deal with it though. People should start a trend of *not* marketing known mushrooms under unknown names. Wouldn't that be cool? "Hey Dude, I got some Blue Caps! I heard you was lookin'." "Yeah, but what the *fuck* is a blue cap?" "Uh, I have no idea. Supposed to be potent!!!" "Haha.....lemme see....ya those are cubes, brah." "Cubes?" (letdown sigh), "Oh..." "Haha. You bought a mushroom sold as 'Blue Caps', that's awesome."

You couldn't tell anymore, demons and man were related, and some would say the same, but who would like to claim? In time, Gods had even forgot, Demons, too, once love had sought. In times recent I remember, Once I was a man, In my heart I had an ember, I'll relate the best I can but it was snuffed, one distant December. And yet here I stand, no flesh, no bones, no seed or semen, All that's left is this Demon.

Well, anyone who does is a retard. Crawling around on your knees for hours for what turns into maybe half an ounce dried if you have a lucky day and then selling it for a few bucks you gotta be really desperate. Most people just want "boomers". They don't even know the difference and how awesome libs are compared to cubes. You'd be better off keeping them for yourself and growing some cubes and sell those instead. There is no commercial profit to be made off of libs. Trust me, I know. I've been hunting them for over twenty years.

I think it's pretty normal for some cubes to form a nipple on top, I think it may be more apparent after it has been dried.

They can be grown at home too if I'm not mistaken.
I know I bought a bag of them once in California and if that doesn't mean they were home-grown, I dunno. Then again they could have been p. mexicana maybe but I figured that is even less likely than liberty caps.
The guy was selling them for only 20 dollars an eighth and two eighths completely blew four of our minds.
I'll admit that I'm not 100% on their identification. I do know they looked exactly like pictures of liberty caps I've seen and they were extremely potent. And some guy had a quarter pound of them dried and was selling eighths.

You ARE indeed very much mistaken. Only a handful of people have managed to fruit them and less than a dozen fruits came out of it and only the most skilled of cultivaters manage even that. Anyone who wants to cultivate anything more potent than cubes in commercial quantities indoors would to grow Panaeolus cyanescens.

That is the cultivated form of Clitocybe nuda. They are called "blue foots" whereas the wild form is called "blewits". Psilocybe caerulipes are also referred to as "blue foots". Panaeolus cyanescens are commonly referred to as "blue meanies". Some rocket scientist thought it would be a great idea to also name a P. cubensis strain "blue meanies". Some people refer to P. cubensis as "gold caps" or "golden tops". In Australia some people call Psilocybe subaeruginosa "golden tops".
Now you know why I want to smack people who are using these silly common names in the face with an anvil.

Clitocybe (Lepista) nuda is an edible gourmet mushroom, yes. There is a genus called "Phallus", too. They look like a dick growing out of the ground and smell like decaying flesh. It's spreads its spores by attracting flies with its stench. There is a lot of interesting things to know about mushrooms besides the fact that a few of them will get you high.
