Mushrooms at the bottom only
    #1394738 - 03/20/03 09:19 AM (13 years, 8 months ago)

I have not yet had the experience to tell if the mushrooms growing at the bottom of my cake are aborts or my new grow tips. I find it odd that they only appear at the bottom of the cake. It took them about 6 days after birth to form.

Anyway, here is a picture of the terrarium itself, oh and my cat.

This is what I am refering to. On the bottom right of the cake you can see this little... something start to form.

they tend to form around the moist areas. if you got a layer of verm on top and under the cake it will promote fruiting from more places.

Yes.. a friend of mine is on his first grow.  His cakes began to do the same thing.. His terrarium didn't seem to keep humidity well. And i guess they form close to the perlite because that's where it's moist.  my friend got a new terrarium that holds moisture very well.  Now cakes are starting to pin up top as well as his casing.  Check your humidity bro  Hope this helps.
