Preparing birdseed for substrate

If using just birdseed/verm do you grind up all the bird seed? Do you boil the seed before mixing it with vermiculite? Thanks in advance

You dont grind it, but you do soak it...i was wondering the same thing and i hope someone smart comes to answer this.
