They're setting the oil wells on fire
    #1394194 - 03/20/03 06:21 AM (13 years, 8 months ago)

Oh man, I hope they somehow destroy all of the oil in Iraq. That would be too sweet.

Story from Yahoo!

I love how Bush specifically told the Iraqi's not to burn the oil wells because that oil "belongs to the Iraqi people". LOL! Way to cover up your motive for this war Bush.

"belongs to the Iraqi people".

Yeah, the oil corporations are going to put all their profits in trust for the Iraqi people. They're going to go over there, spend millions developing the oil refineries out of the kindness of their hearts and then hand over all the profits. Isn't that good of them?  :smirk:

yeah, people made a big deal about how much environmental damage it would do, but it turned out to be pretty harmless.

I regret the environmental damage burning the oil wells will create, but it sure would be sweet if Bush and Co. took over Iraq for nothing.

There are stories going around that it was actually American soldiers who set up the charges on the oil pumps back in the first Gulf War. I will post a link when I come across this to offer an alternative side of the story.

I know. Can you imagine how much trouble a US soldier would be in if he were to set an oil well on fire?

That would be tantamount to a war crime.

I'd actually be happier if the wells did not get set on fire... It was one of the worst environmental disasters ever...

I know.....it's a tough decision but man it would be sweet if Bush came out of this with little or no oil.

Not only that, but the oil is going to get burned anyway. I'll be happy when we use up all oil on earth and move on to other sources of energy.

I hope the oil is all burned...
I mean its all going to be refined and burned up eventually anyway...

We're just waiting till corporations can't profit off it anymore, then they bring in all the other alternate fuel systems that have already be tested and true.
