Humididty problem, tried the FAQ

AFOAF has a fruiting chamber measuring 2x4x6` and he is using a cool-mist humidifier, model v3100. It has been on the high setting for over 6 hours, and the RH, still says 75%, there is also a large tub of wet perlite in the bottom. How else can I raise the RH? Just misting the sides? I was under the impression that a cool mist would provide sufficient humidity. Thx for the help

Did you calibrate your hygrometer?

I don't think I can, it is an accurite one that reads internal temp/rh and external temp via a probe, my FOAF has the external one currently in his incubator and the internal in the testing fruiting chamber, upon checking now the rh is 75%, any suggestions? I ordered an analog hygrometer today so hopefully I will have a comparison soon. Thx.

If you can?t calibrate it you can at least test it with the salt method ->faq
Try NOT running the humidifier and see what the humidity does then.
I let my cool mist humidifier run for 10 minutes every 2 hours. I?t basically for air exchange, not for humidification.

I see, what would you reccomend for keeping the RH up, I plan on having 6 or so casings in there at a time, the cool-mist and a tub of perlite, think that will be ok?
Thx

P.S. I was wondering how old you were Anno?
