It depends on when you decide who wins.....This will not be a simple "we win" or "they win"

This in not a high school basketball game........

Is this a joke?

If Iraq wins this war, then the USA was right all along. Saddam DOES have weapons of mass destruction.

You'd have to have one fierce fucking arsenal to beat the USA.

The USA will easily topple Saddam, but what then? Will it be worth it? How many more terrorists will this act breed? You know, one of the biggest drags on the USSR was the security needed to maintain the totalitarian regime. How expensive will USA's security get? We're at 400$ billion per year now. Roughly 10 times the amount it would take to eliminate world hunger, so I've heard. How many freinds would that win USA?

"You'd have to have one fierce fucking arsenal to beat the USA."

Tell that to the Vietcong.

In a traditional battle, yes. But I dont think this will be over quickly- it will ferment for quite some time after all the glitter from CNN is gone...

That's a good point.

Still, I think it's different now. No?

Vietcong had the USSR to give 'em whatever they needed right? What else? There's more.

Yeah, except for maybe the fact that we didn't kick the shit out of the Vietcong, impose sanctions, then go to kick the shit out of them for a second time.

The point is, this war will rally more people to Bin Laden's cause. It is the best recruitment tool for Al Queda ever devised. This in turn will result in more terrorist attacks against U.S. citizens, which will in turn be used as an excuse for the U.S. government to further curtail civil liberties and become MORE of a police state, this will eventually create more Americans who hate and mistrust their own government. The bolded points are two that Osama Bin Laden has brought up. Bush's actions are playing right into his hands.

I guess only time will tell if UBL's vision is prophetic, or delusional. Until then it's all a matter of opinion.

It has nothing to do with being prophetic. It is about strategy and tactics. Osama Bin Laden is a superior strategist to Bush, he is fighting for his cause in a completely different way. Bush is stuck in strategic and tactical thinking from the 1900's, Bin Laden's way is the way of the 2000's. This is a different kind of warfare which our current military power and way of thinking are unable to effectively address. This will not end with the defeat of Iraq, it's occupation and 'Nation building.' This will play out over decades.
