The PFtek is not a waste of time. The cakes aren't anyway, just break them up or use a cheese grater and you can spawn them on poo and do bulk.

True

The PF tek is not a waste of time.
It's for people that don't have a pressure cooker and for newbies to learn the basics ropes....following directions and learning to work in sterile conditions.
It's a great stepping stone...to bigger and better things.
PF cakes are also good for people that only wants to grow a few cakes...or people that can not have a large grow and it's great for Stealth growers.

BRF cakes are also a great way to have a fail safe from losing a strain in your collection.
I have used cakes several times so I don't have to try and find another print of a certain strain from someone else.

I have enjoyed growing cakes.
They can be alot of fun if you have success with them.
Spawning BRF cakes into horse poo has been very good to me.
I started doing a few cakes again recently.

There is no comparing cakes to casings...Casings win every time.

The PF tek is pretty much a Classic.
There is no reason to knock it.
Yes there are alot better ways to grow mushrooms.
But the PF tek will always have a special place in the archives.

You can very easily get several dry ounces from just PFcakes spwaned on poo with a plain verm casing layer, that's as basic as it gets as far as bulk goes and you can get some nice results.

PF cakes are good for germinating on, then moving to Peroxidted agar.

It's probably the best way to start Azures and Cyans, or anything you don't have a clean print for..
