It would probably fruit on cow dung, but it mostly only fruits on horse manure.
You dont even care about the edibles, huh?

what ever happen to grammatics? anyway, i live in costal southern california and i was wondering if anyone knows the names of some of the more prevalent psilocybin species that grow natrual around here? or even some normal gormets or others i would probably spot on a hunt. the last two days gave us alot of rain, when would be a good time to go hunt? thanx-1C()/\/

Not to be mean, but, Ive answered both your questions in the post already
For Southern CA... Depends on how far South you are... Im sure you could find some Panaeolus subbalteatus in some horse dung, compost, or rotting hay stacks...But, they would be few and far between.
You must remember that SoCal is really just a coastal desert... LA through SD is naturally a semi-arid desert....
Mushrooms are harder to find, less abundant in dryer biomes.

No, no cow pastures for you. Cubensis don't naturaly grow in Califorina. You COULD find Panaeolus subbalteatus in a cow pasture, but I wouldn't count on it.

i guess you did, i should read the whole thread before inquireing, i just went out today and found many non-psilocybe species. i live in the san fernado valley ("the valley") north-west of LA, its considered a "medaterranian" climate, the humidity is about 30 to 50% on average, getting much higher the closer to the beach you get. Has anyone heard of the malibu canyon state park, its quite humid and cool and foresty, would that be a good place to search? maybe i just dont want to accept the fact that im never going to find any psilocybe species . If not oh well still fun to hunt,-1C()/\/

Yeah, I know that area pretty well...
You wont find any Psilocybe's, but, you could find some Boleteus species during the winter months under pine.
