"When we add up the true size of the federal workforce — civil servants, postal workers, military personnel, contractors, grantees, and bailed-out businesses — and add in state- and local-government employees — civil servants, teachers, firefighters, and police officers — we reach the astonishing figure of nearly 40 million Americans employed in some way by government. That means that about 17 percent of the American labor pool — one in every six workers — owes its living to the taxpayer."

Then add in the number of people on government assisted programs (welfare, foodstamps, etc) and you will really flip out... unless you happen to be one of the parasites (ZM [zappamark]).

Let's not leave out those whose homes are subsidized by mortgage interest payment tax deductions.

You seem to have fallen into the fallacy that allowing people to keep their money is a subsidy.  Which is sad.  I though you were smarter than that.

When I was a young man all interest payments were deductible from taxes.  Car loans, credit cards, all of it.  Why not?  If you consider your life as an business, and you really should, shouldn't the cost of operating that business be a write-off?  You have to pay taxes on interest earned, don't you?
