rubbing them in your hands?
    #1388020 - 03/18/03 12:51 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

my friend says it does a bit. does it? How high can you get from rubbing them in your hands? if you rubbed the wrong shrooms, aka poisonous ones, could the poison be absorbed through your skin too? just wondering

rubbing them on your hands, although it may indeed work, doesn't seem like it would be NEARLY as efficient as eating them would be..

why don't you just eat them? looking for new ways to not take all the shrooms you bought?

If you've ever picked them in the fields you do notice a slight euphoric feeling afterwards that does resemble a slight trip, but thats after coming in contact with 100s of fresh caps, but yeah thats just stupid why would you ask a question like this..

There are no recorded incidents of a person being poisoned by a mushroom by handling it. All cases involve getting the mushroom into the body somehow. For obvious reasons, the vast majority of mushroom poisonings involve eating the mushrooms.

In general, for your body to absorb an external substance it requires that the substance some in contact with a mucous membrane. For solids and liquids that generally means the digestive system. For gases it means the lungs.

Consider also that your digestive system also has safeguards built into it to protect you from harm. Many toxins are destroyed by it before they can be absorbed. It also protects you from the potential for infection by any bacteria or viruses which may be on whatever you eat.

If you took several grams of pure psilocybin and rubbed it on your skin somewhere you might absorb enough to have effects. The efficiency of the method would certainly be poor, and should be a good enough reason to not bother trying.

Happy mushrooming!
