I'm sure they'll retaliate however they can.

Talk is they want a new "At War" terror threat level. If I were you guys I'd raise it to red once war is declared.

Boo! Scared another American.

Terror alert has been raised to High now. Bush says "The risks of inaction are far greater". So by this logic, should we just 'liberate' every country with weapons that could potentially harm Americans? I saw on Fox tonight that a food shipment was allowed into North Korea. I'm guessing this is so they'll back down on the nuke talk. So we'll make a deal with them to avoid war, but not Saddam, because we know that we can wipe out Iraq with a large supply of those MOAB missles and not have to worry about large scale retaliation back home.

I keep on hearing that it's going to happen, but Moe, tell me, why is it that we need it?

How about: "Completely-pointless-proof-of-human-stupidity-war". It's pretty catchy.

About 100.000 people died the first time. I'm sure they had fun too.

i like the laser guided gun on the bradleys, we got a chance to get in one.

I rode along with the 8" howitzers and drove a hum-V with a $250,000 gps that is now obsolete. We captured 8 soldiers ourselves and treated them pretty good (food, water and fresh socks)

I didn't really have fun but it was an experience i will never forget.

yeh, it WAS fun... so, if youre for war or not if you are in the army and OUT there facing combat.. YOU BETTER MAKE IT FUN OR POSSIBILY DIE. put yourself in my shoes.. young, just joined the army, and get shipped off to war.. what am I gonna do? PROTEST ?

I sorta understand that.
I refused to join the army (my country has a mandatory service) and went trough some trouble because of it. At the end I had to work for the society instead and spent 7 months in a monastery as a gardener. I'm a proud coward  and I'll never have to think about the persons I killed and why I did it.

Currently the administration is calling it "Operation Iraqi Freedom"

I assume this is based on the buddhist notion that in death do we find freedom  :frown:

MANDATORY? tthat has gotta suck ass!

lol Maybe that's why everybody hates it. I think most of the Europe has this system. In the last years it is possible to serve it in a different way (for pacifists ). That's what I did.
You have to do 7 months in one way or another at 18 or when you finish all schools (I went at 26). It's also possible to make it a career, but I never heard of anyone who'd like something like that.

I know that you have a very different view on the army over there. I noticed that many Americans actually think positive about it.
Tell me - why did you enlist?

I loved my military service (8 years). I joined, to be honest with you, because i needed money for college. I made many friends that i will never forget and had an opportunity to battle saddam in the 1st gulf war. the military here is like a job after basic training and your specialized school training (about 6 months or so).
