Anyone know what these are? I found them in a cow pasture around a fallen tree. They bruise brown.

Yeah i figured they were poisonous. Should I just dump this field and try for another one? Or just wait it out?

The 1st, 2nd, and 4th ones are similar to Lentinus levis (=Panus levis). It, and most of the species close to it, are inedible (due mostly to texture), but not poisonous or active.

The 3rd and 5th ones I can't see enough detail to even guess what they are. In particular, we need to know details about the spore bearing surface to be able ID them.

In general, you need to post a fairly detailed description out here if you want an acurate ID. On your next post, please try to help us out by making a detailed description. This will also get you used to looking at the things we're looking at.

Happy mushrooming!

in addition to TM's guidelines, you should try to follow the format of this thread, entitled "Before you post an ID request, please read this!". it will help a lot.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Hey EatTheBlue,

I see that you are located in southern Florida so,

The mushroom pictured in photos 1, 2 & 4, are a very common thing to find here.
I call them the "False Golden Chantrelle", and i think that they might be slightly poisonous - or at least, too tough to eat anyways.

In fact, i saw a large fruiting of them growing yesterday during a brief bikeride to the store.. like i say, they are very common and can be found growing from mulch and woodchips, wood debris and tree stumps.

..I drive by cow fields several times every day..i saw a very nice golden & robust Psilocybe Cubensis today
So, they're out there. In fact, since we have crept out of this drought, the cow fields have been steadily producing Cubensis & Copelandia's since late last year.

Also, yesterday around sunset we picked around 25 specimens of the mysterious psychoactive Panaeolus castaneifolius var. ggreatoneifolius

-They were growing just a walk away from the condo.
-I have photos of the last 4 pan caster collections this month but my floppy drive is busted so i cannot yet share these until this problem is fixed.

Keep shroomin,

-March is the most productive month of the year for this mushroom on the south-west coast of Florida. And ones we picked yesterday had stained a very delicate light-blue at the base of the stems mycelium.

Keep shroomin,
GG
