Move the terrarium out of your bedroom if that's possible. If not, you could rigging up a little enclosure for it that vents to the outside through a window if the temp outside is ok.

What sort of terrarium setup are you using? If there is any standing water (or water pooling underneath somewhere), you need to get rid of that. Suck it up with a turkey baster or improvise if you haven't got one. If you're using perlite, some hydrogen peroxide could clear up the smelly bacterial baddies.

Also, I'm not sure about mind-altering bacteria, but paranoia brought on by nasty smelling bacteria could certainly explain your dreams. Ever been camping and have a dream about drowning only to wake up getting rained on? OK, maybe not, but these things happen.
