Hello!

Is there any difference in potency between the cap of a mushroom and its stem?

The search function is temporarily disabled until we can do a server hardware upgrade.
This will likely be at the begining of April.

Sorry for any inconvenience

And no, there is no difference between c & s

Everyone knows the stems are 10 times more potent.

^^^^^^^ Godamn liar, everybody knows they are 14 times as potent. That 10 fold figure was disproved by the landmark Smith,et. al. study a couple years ago.

There is no Smith et al., landmark paper. Where did you get that information from.

There is however:

Bigwood, Jeremy and Michael W. Beug. 1982. Variation of psilocybin and psilocin levels with repeated flushes (harvests) of mature sporocarps of Psilocybe cubensis (Earle) Singer. Journal of Ethnopharmacology vol. 5(3):287-291. May.
Analysis of Psilocybe cubensis grown in controlled cultures and the variation of tryptamine compounds from the 1st to the 4th flush.

and

------. 1992. Psilocin, psilocybin, serotonin, and urea in Panaeolus cyanescens from various origin. Persoonia vol. 15(1):117-121.
Analysis of 3 collections of Copelandia cyanescens from Australia, Hawaii, and Thailand are presented. Also includes comments from human volunteers who ingested some of the Hawaiian material.

And the latter page is posted in the harmful effects posted here in the general forums.
