Dreadfully Jealous
    #1383627 - 03/17/03 09:09 AM (21 years, 17 days ago)

I'm not sure who I'm jealous of...but I know i'm jealous because....

I live on earth and am basically here for the rest of my life. There is a massive universe that we hardly understand...there is a massive expanse of things out there that we can only dream of and look at (not even all of it).

It seems useless to me to be outfitted with a brain that allows me to ponder the rest of the universe without being able to navigate it...or even fully understand it

well, i hope something BIG happens in my lifetime...

i hope we make contact or evolve to the next rung of human existance...

i can't be content with just staying on earth, chasing pussy, going to school, drinking on the weekends, getting a job, getting married, raising a family, and considering myself "successful" to only die and decompose

to me, that is my worst nightmare

maybe i'm jealous of the generation that makes the big change........of some sort

You remind me of the old, way over used joke of "Doctor my arm hurts when I do this....." and the doctor says "Don't go that....."

You lay out the "roadmap to hell" with chasing pussy, going to school, drinking on the weekends, getting a job, getting married, raising a family, and considering myself "successful" . It's kind of a good sign because you at least know what not to do.

So now I must ask, what are you doing differently? What actions are you taking that will make this mundane exsistence have worth? Why count on external forces to create that for you? Why don't you be the generation?

Maybe you want to keep in mind this - If you want things to be different, act as if they were as you would like to see.....

As Joseph Campbell would say, "Find your bliss."

--------------------
To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

samsara is nirvana...
you are the universe...
as above, so below...
a circle whose center is everywhere and circumference is nowhere...
thou art that...
be ye therefore in the world, but not of the world...
if not you, who? if not now, when?
we are all tied to the wheel, are we not?
if you seem to discover that you are ensnared maya, playing lila --- try to play well...
nobody asked to be born (well, that we can remember) & nobody gets out of here alive (well, as far as we can tell) --- so what's your beef, bud?
you can't go on and you can't stand still --- if the thunder don't get you then the lightning will...
i can't even see the back of my own head, much less the inside of it...
no one's mouth is big enough to utter the whole thing...
~
~
~
mmmmphh...
ya almost made me wake up there for a second...
zzzz...
